After seeing the new M3 considering a E46?
Hi all, after seeing the new ///M I wasn't impressed much. The engine just doesn't scream like a inline 6 or the quality of the interior styling just doesn't do it for me. My question is, I'm hearing about one of production years of the E46 M3 cost some big bills for the ones who went out of warranty. Can you guys tell more about this. I don't want to make mistake and have big problems after having the car. I appriciate for any replies.

I own an e46 M3 and have test driven the new M, I share the feelings the OP have. The coziness and snug feel of the e46 M bulky interior panels and seats makes it feel like a cockpit.
I didnt feel special inside the new M, and maybe bcoz I drive a e90 325i for my daily. Currently planning for the new M, its just a matter of time for me to let go my beloved e46 M ![]()

I just bought an 03' e46 m3. I got a great deal on it. I paid 25.5K in it only had 41k miles on it. I agree, that the e46 m3 feels like a cock pit. It might not be as fast as the the current gen cars, but man it feels fast, it feels special. If you can get a good deal on one, I would go for it. Or wait and see if they bring a CSL version of the e92 m3 to the states. Good Luck .

I'm not trying to be an ss but if someone is looking to buy a used M3 for 20k, I doubt they are in the market or can afford the CSL. Lets assume it comes to the states (which may or may not happen) the car will be quite a bit more than the normal e92 M3 maybe 90k or more- Considering the cars listed are the same cost a a loaded new civic, i would say they are a great deal and worth getting. Good luck |
