M drive & EDC??

I just got my new m3 sedan. I just picked it up from the dealer I just notice that the M drive and EDC are not in the package. Are they really necesary for a 6 speed manual tranmission? Could you add them later on?

I noticed that the silver demo sedans had the stand alone Nav but no ZTP. I was wondering if anyone would be misled by this. I hope that is not the case here. Whenever I see a new M3 with the double hump I just assume it has ZTP, but that is not always the case. The tip off that made me notice was the missing EDC button, which is bundled with the ZTP.

I doubt either could be added later, unfortunately. The good news is that you may not miss them, especially if you just realized they were not there. Enjoy your new M3!

I was told that Mdrive button was not there but you could control everything through the nav. I knew that the EDC was not there but I am not sure if it really a must? What does it really do?

The EDC just gives you three different suspension settings - normal, sport and comfort. If you're happy with the way your car rides now then I doubt you will miss it.

It's the BMW ordering code for the technology package.

The standard suspension is believed to be somewhere between normal and sport.

In the US or Canada, don't think you need that!!! There is a slight difference in feel from Normal to Sport but not that much at all.
