Wow, what a thread, and from the sounds of it the end result may just in fact be for the little guy. Lets hope it continues in this manner until keys are in hand and the car is as advertised.

Congrats!

Good Luck Domma, and congrats on getting the deal. I hope that whatever these "conditions" are that they dont screw up the best deal on an M3 ever. Also dont forget to post up those pics of the new beauty when you get her.

Would be really interested to know what these "conditions" are. There really shouldn't be anything other than you won the auction for $60k. Any BS conditions they try to put on you should be looked at very carefully.

Did they say why they changed there minds? Or what made them?

Big congrats BTW!!

Terms for Dooma= help repair our reputation

Oh crap! Now that this thing seems to be resolved I guess I gotta go back to work.
Businesses all over the world should be suing this dealership for millions of dollars in lost productivity.

For real guys, obvious 99% here want Dooma to get the car at what the action ended, but don't be calling the dealer, as someone said above, you do lose all the moral ground by starting to harass him. Ok they get the picture, don't do it again please, you might end up really hurting Dooma more as the dealer migh tstart complaining to court against Dooma and saying all this was staged somehow and reasonably unfair response, who knows how it ends in the Land of Litigation.

So let them work it out, negative press is one thing, but all the prank calls and smear is not.

OT, but the internet is amazing how so many people know about this now. bmw of lincoln is screwed.
No, but that's not why I posted it.
It just shows that they had the option of ending the auction early to fix the error. They didn't. They let it run to completion. It was a bit of damning act, arguably.

Its all designed to rip the consumer off. I bought and sold plenty of cars for wholesale price for the exact price they pay for them. This is BS. Thats crazy they should honor the price.
?!????

You are right... SOME car MFGs have Hold Backs, Floor plans ETC. BMW does not give the dealers holdback but I still think they are at a loss if this cars MSRP was 68K.

Glad to see that the dealer did what was right, they have gained back some dignity by that alone. However, depending on what these "conditions" are, they may lose it all back and then some.

I can understand why the dealer wanted to get out of this. If this was a 325, that's one thing. But this is an M3. They don't make many and this is a car they typically would have made a nice pounder on. When someone realized as to the serious eff up in handling this auction, they scrambled to fix the huge mistake. NO BMW DEALER WANTS TO LOSE THIS AMOUNT ON A MONEY CAR!

I am not defending the dealer just giving you their side of things.

For those who sit there and say, "it's just 6K" you obviously have never worked in a dealership or ran a business.

I'd hate to be the desk manager that had to pencil this deal. His monthly numbers along with the salesman are in the toilet big time.

I think it goes w/o saying, but I would also stay clear of servicing your vehicle there; depsite the limited dealers in your area.

He doesn't live anywhere near the dealership. I'm sure his local dealership would be more than happy to service it for him.

I cannot congratulate you enough. This just goes to show that there is still a lot of decency and honor left in people around the world. When strangers with a common ground get together it's absolutely amazing what happens.

Enjoy the car my friend. I'm sure the minute you get behind the wheel, turn the key, and hear the engine the biggest smile you've ever had will beam across your face.

Thats good to hear that they are going to honor the price, but what are these conditions they are talking about?????

And I agree we shouldnt be harrasing anyone it will only hurt Dooma in the end.

And no need to thank us, just helping a fellow M3 lover get the car he wants.

Now all thats left I guess is to arrange the shipping right.
