How do you think aftermarket wheels will look w/o a drop?

Hey Guys,

I'm considering going with these wheels & skipping out on getting the OEM 19's" Just looking for your honest opinions. I'm seriously concidering these wheels but, I don't think I wanna drop the car since I'm getting the EDC option. Do you think they'll look good?

They are by SEVAS wheels here in Miami FL, 3 piece custom forged wheels. I'm friends with the owner, he's a class act & his custom wheels are comparable to HRE, IForged, ect.....

BTW, comparing it to HRE means that they suck. HRE makes overpriced weak wheels.

Hey, I wouldn't go that far. The strongest wheels, no. Weak though, definately not.

Getting back on topic, do you guys think these wheels will look good without the drop or should I just go with the OEM 19's?

Not sure how a drop makes the wheel look better

The R22 wheel is not shown on the web site but every wheel there is described as cast alumium, one piece. They don't look like one piece wheels. All weigh in around 27 pounds, about what you'd expect for cast.

Are you sure the R22 is forged and not cast?

I think your talking about the S22 version they make. The R22 is a custom 3 piece wheel

The reason why I'm asking is because my current E46 M3 looked like it was a 4x4 after I put my HRE's on. After the drop, it looked AMAZING. I don't think I wanna drop it this time around since I'm going with EDC. Opinions anyone?

i had the same concerned, but was told if i match the wheel/tire sizes of OEM 19's it'll look just like stock and shouldnt look like it was raised.

i think a drop will be necessary anyway, after market wheels with stock height looks kinda weird IMHO

Agree. A little drop would be nice even with stock wheels. I may consider some springs after a while, but the suspension is just so darn good now I don't want to mess it up. I'll probably go with some more aggressive monoforged wheels later.

is anyone taking into account the addition of low profile tires? i run 235/30/19 on my e46 m3 and it gives a very clean look... see what low pros will work with those wheels

I can't see giving up performance for some perceived cool look. Rubber bands don't look good, IMHO, destroy ride and compormise handling.

I think the car will look better with a drop, especially in pics, but will also look fine IRL without a drop. H&R makes sport springs that work with EDC. Of course they will probably void your warranty on the EDC mechanism should something break.

I hear ya. That's why I started this tread. Only thing is that this M3 definitely comes with a better stance then the e46.

+1 35's is the lowest I would ever consider & that's with a serious drop. It's just dangerous.

I had a bad experience with springs on my e46. Shocks go in about 2 seconds give or take

Sorry, no, nothing has been debunked. Why do you assume the wheel breaking is recent?

ok, whatever. Now back on topic. Does anybody have any shots of 19" aftermarket wheels on a M3 w/o a drop?

Thanks in advance!

Yah np...to me 18'' wheels are too small for the big wheel arches...IMO, a nice 19 fits it perfectly and if it's lowered too much, then it'll just look weird...

@Hakaida...when was this taken?
