New M3 and 1 series buyers - BEWARE

My Apr '08 Car & Driver issue mentions about this BAD TRIP - "A ship carrying a load of BMW M3s and 1-series listed severely during its trip to the U.S., damaging more than 370 BMW cars. Many of them will be scrapped; others that suffered less damage will be repaired and sold."

I suspect this means delays for those who were expecting their order to be delivered soon. But worse, some will get repaired cars. Ouch.

this was reported a while ago all over the forum. the ship tipped at the port and busted up a bunch of M3s. you can search to find the thread. i'm sure that they aren't going to sell a car unless it was fully repaired.

You would be amazed on how informed you can get on this forum. We knew about the thing hours after happened.

But I'm sure most of the member really appreciate your warning.
