Jerez Black in person....disappointed
my dealer has a JzB Sedan. under the showroom lites, it looks very , very dark blue. what really bothered me was the lack of metalflake in the metallic. the Csomos black and the carbon black had much more metal flake to the point. i thought maybe its cause I was inside, but the showroom was very well lit.

I disagree. I think the Jerez black on the sedan, with 19" wheels, looks aggressive and very mean. I think it might be the color I go with.

Have you see this color in person?
It looks way darker in pictures than in person. |

You are saying you saw it in the showroom. Everything I read so far suggests it looks much darker in daylight and artifical lights bring out the blue?

Out in the sun it did not appear blue to me at all - most definitely black. However, it did not appear to have the depth or edge of a straight jet black...it looked softer I thought.

what was disappointing to me was the lack of sparkle - lack of metallic look - if you pay extra for metallic you should be able to see it sparkle.

i was actually very impressed by jerez black and questioned my decision on my alpine white for about 0.0000009 of a second.. but all kidding aside i think the deep blue angle you get at certain views in the black looks great

I like Jerez Black I ordered my M3 in Jerez black. I look at the color like this its a special M3 Color and it is different. I saw the color on a M3 sedan and it made the sedan look mean aggressive and stand out. If you are going pay $70,000 plus thousand for a M3 car it better have a color different from the rest of the normal BMW.......1, 3,5,6,and 7 series model types.

isn't topaz a baby blue?
i'd usually agree that it is cool for an M car to have a unique color, but the choices are so freakin' limited! |

I have seen it at 4 different dealers and swear it looked different each time. This was inside the dealerships, not outside. I like the fact it seems to have the ability to illuminate different shades under different lighting ... just hope it's the same outside. Plus, this is a M3 only color.

When I went to see it, it was really purple under the lights; like close to techno violet. Still though, I love it. It's black most of the time, but different than any other black out there.

I thought it looked like carbon black. Not my cup of tea due to obscuring of body lines and incredible paint maintenance issues.
