MR M3 Coupe with US spec 18in Wheels

Hey guys...just got back from the dealership here in SA. I must say this car is absolutely gorgeous in person. Pictures don't do it any justice. Here's a few shots of the 18in wheels. In person, once again, they look amazing. They are not as "light" in color as I thought they would be, almost the dark grey that I've seen online here. You be the judge.

They look good, but all that clearance room between the tire and the wheel well would eat at me. The 19" help fill it up a tiny bit more. I wonder how a EDC compliant suspension upgrade would cost vs. the stock 19" price.

I thought there was under a 1/10" difference in diameter between an 18" 245/40 vs a 19" 245/35 and virtually none on the 265s? So, how would the gap differ?

Those dark gray rims look great with the red. Glad to see they have less metal next to the hub than the previous 18" wheels shown. I bet those would look great on sparkling graphite as well.

The 18s look much better in person.

Great pictures! I ordered the 18's because I could not wait for the 19's to come in. Lately, I have been nervous about not having the larger wheels. But these pictures really make me feel better. I love the darker finish. Should look good with jerez.

There is no difference between the outside diameter of the 18" and 19" tires. I guess it's going to eat you up even if you ordered the 19". The gap will be the same.

Edit: If you'll notice this car has not been prepped by the dealer yet. That means there are still shipping blocks in the front suspension which raise the suspension approx 1.5". That's why you see such a large gap. It has nothing to do with the wheel size.

yes, the overall outside diameter will be the same but the actual gap is slightly bigger from the rim (not the tires) to the wheel well since the 18"s rims are smaller in diameter and have slightly fatter tires.

cheers!

I guess you're correct, I assumed a gap meant the absence of material (air).

I'd get the 18's if you are planning on getting after market wheels later on... plus they don't look that bad

I didn't think I would like them but got to see them today and they are really not bad. I think they will look good with JB. They will still become track rims and I will get 19" or 20" for daily driving.
