Unlocking i-drive screen for TV while moving ?

Does anyone know a way to unlock the TV in an E92 M3 so that it stays on all the time and doesn't go off when you start moving. I have heard there maybe a sequence of buttons to push ?

Search e90post - http://www.e90post.com/forums/index.php

for "tvandnav2go"

There are units out there you can install to allow TV/DVD function while car is moving.

You have to install a module into the back of the head unit. I believe from the install instructions I saw that the tvandnav2go unit requires splicing into the wires, an alternative company that I have used before is:

http://www.kufatec.de/shop/product_i...r--X5--X6.html

Their unit is simply plug-and-play and requires no splicing into the wiring.

I tried another system on my 08 330d. It's something you connect to the car's diagnostic connector, you push a button and then it switch the tv to have it always on even while your are driving... Good solution because you don't need to unmount anything in the car.
I found it on ebay and it worked fine...

For cars equiped with CCC (car's before LCI) you have this :

http://cgi.ebay.de/BMW-TV-Freischalt...ht_2126wt_1167

For cars equiped with CIC (idrive with harddisk) you have this :

http://cgi.ebay.de/BMW-DVD-TV-Freisc...#ht_814wt_1167

This is just the idea of type of part. I don't know the sellers so take care to their notation ! Anyway, I bought one (i don't remember to who) but it worked fine for me !

These are likely only TV Activation modules - the will do nothing for the safety interlock or if a TV tuner is not detected.

Thanks for the info. This would be really nice because it looks non invasive but i cant read anything and it would probably cost a lot to get something sent here to the states. I will probably go with the eas solution just looking for something plug and play.

my advice should be to ask them how much it cost to send it to the states ! By the way such module does perhaps exist in the states.... Perhaps a little search would help.

I find nice from the same reason as you and it is...

By the way it's on this site I bought my module (trough his ebay account, but it's perhaps possible to buy directly from him) :
