Military Sales Disrespect?

First, I appreciate the chance to purchase vehicles at a lower price point. However, does this require being snubbed by dealerships and BMW NA?

I have yet to find an internet salesman who will even speak with me using the same customer service as the salesman/woman who initially greeted me. Then when I try to get an update from the Owners Circle/BMW NA, I am told if the car is not produced for a US dealer they are unable to help, end of story. When I ask why this is so, they act as if I am asking for a BJ....next please......move along.....this is not your concern?

Is anyone else having the same experience?

Of course the sales agency is quite helpful though an automated method to track my car would be nice.

Guess it's the price you pay for getting a $5,250 discount on a 2008 M3 Coupe, that us non-Military buyers can't get

That's not even close to correct. Military members shouldn't be treated with disrespect because they get a discount. What good is a discount if you get treated like sh!t?

Hmmm... I have not tried talking to any dealers or BMW NA yet. I have had no reason to at this point.

What questions are asking? Just curious...

I was looking for basic information on the process. Once the salesman found out I already had an order, he pointed at a guy sitting at a desk on the phone. Then he walked away. No introduction, nothing to indicate I needed his assistance. So I stood there awhile waiting my turn and was never awknologed.

Then I emailed an internet sales dude in another state looking again for information. I never received a reply though was placed upon their spam newsletter.

The third strike was customer service snubbing me as if I had purchased a gray market vehicle.

Once the deal is over I could give a shit. For now I expected to be treated with better customer service than I have seen thus far. Perhaps I'll go back to Brecht and see if things are better there. Back when I was looking at an E46 they seemed to be much better than BMW of SD.

Is this a dealership stateside? Are you new to the dealership just in off the street or have you a prior relationship with them? Not that any of it should matter but i have found that my dealer knows me cause not just because I get my X5 serviced there and bought it from them but also I guess because they sold me my 1st BMW almost 9 yrs ago. I've always stopped by and my service advisor knows me by name also. So it's like a relationship I've had/developed with them. Hell my salesman even offered to do a courtesy delivery of my M3 this summer at no charge. I am even almost sure that my car would have arrived and not been ah "tested" excessively by the staff and sales people before delivery to me! LOL Am taking Performance Center Delivery to make sure tho.

Anyway nobody should be treated that way I agree...don't know any dealers in Cali. however it I did I'd definately send you their way! However if you do want to pickup your car in MD; then I could help ya out! ~

You clearly should not be treated that way. I would consider writing to BMWNA so that they know how they are being represented. (Yes, I know dealerships are not owned by BMW, but that's somewhat irrelevant.)

I don't call anybody, I simply deal with my Mil sales rep who is without fail helpful and prompt. I would not try getting info from BMW NA. You know the deal, as soon as anyone no matter what situation you are in gets the feeling you may think you are special, they will go out of their way to be as of little help as possible, human nature...only rarely do you find something different.

Courtesy Delivery

I received a courtesy delivery through BMW in ooceanside for a military sale and they were very pleasant. The manager said he gets $500 for the delivery and this about pays his costs for prepping the car.
He did however mention that he does it because he feels it generates good will with the military. Obviously his prime market being next to Camp Pendleton.
I'd reccomend delivery there.
Other than your sales person, the only person who knows about your car is the mil sales rep in NJ at BMWNA Her name is (if she's still there) Terry Brennan. Very nice and helpful. Call or e-mail her.
I had similar less than pleasant dealings with Irvine BMW

That is probably because the dealer is making zero margins on your car.

It is still unacceptable but the discount you get sure makes up for it.

Angry I Know The Feeling

I JUST GOT TREATED LIKE CRAP IN EL PASO BMW TODAY, ONCE THEY FIND OUT YOU ALREADY GOT A CAR ON ORDER AND THEY ARE NOT MAKING A SALE FROM YOU. THEY WANT NOTHING TO DO WITH YOU. AND BY THE WAY JUST BECAUSE YOU ARE IN THE MILITARY DON'T MEAN YOU GET THE CAR A LITTLE LESS. PEOPLE IN THE MILITARY THAT LIVE IN THE U.S. AND ARE NOT DEPLOYED AND ARE NOT LIVING OVERSEAS .... JUST FOR A SMALL EXAMPLE OF MANY DON'T GET A DISCOUNT.
