2006 was a bad year for practically all merc models.

There have been numerous articles stating this.

just got off the phone with my buddy who works there.

turns out the cls has engine mods that may have contribute to the driveshaft failure

extra power + hard launch/poor driving= bye bye drive shaft

My Mercedes was a Lemon Buyback. I bought it knowing this. We've had it for nearly three years, and not one stinking thing has gone wrong with it. It's been more reliable than my wife's Honda minivan ever was.
