The rim/tire appearance that some think makes the pic a fake is not evidence for that. It is simply a cell phone camera or other low quality camera that was moving while it was shuttering. Car looks legit to me, either a 335 roof grafted or the real thing.

Where in Maryland was this? If at a dealer, I would love to go check it out.

Interesting....

It looks like it is a Hardtop looking at the trunk configuration. I remember reading somewhere that BMW M said that there will not be a Hardtop Convertible M3 as the weight increase negates the reason for it to be an M.

So I assumed that they would all be soft tops like the 1 series Verts.

Well, coming from germany here is my statement:

IF that is a german license plate, it is for the city of Heinsberg. In this city resides a store of a big BMW Dealer (kohl.de) who happens to be also the owner of AC Schnitzer......

BUT: The shop is so freaking small, i cannnot imagine it to be a big company like kohl or AC....

Other than that: The car has no visible side reflectors, so it might very well be a german spec car.

Long live the conspiracy theory!

Thanks to M3post.com, the best Bmw forum on the Web, we can see this all-new 2008 Bmw M3 Convertible with awesome AC Schnitzer rims. Following the launch of the new M3, the M3 convertible is programmed to hit the roads almost by the end of 2008 but is seems now that the launch is closer than we thought.Like the coupe, the convertible will have the same alluminium 4.0 liter V8 engine delivering 420 bhp and 295 pound-feet of torque.

The unique character of the new BMW M3 is obvious at first sight. Over and above the engine compartment lid with its striking powerdome and the two air intake openings, the function-oriented design of the front and rear air dams, the so-called gills in the front side panels, the side-sills also in distinctive design, the roof made of clearly visible carbon fibre, as well as the exterior mirrors and light-alloy wheels in BMW M design clearly characterise the new model from the ground up. The exterior, in turn, through its athletic and aesthetic appearance, powerfully underlines the sporting qualities of the car.
