The article says flywheel .. yet its tech not fly wheel as a dyanpack is still running through the entire drivetrain just not the wheels.

zr1 has 600+ hp? stock

I have no doubt that it will hit 100K during the first year. My friend already has clients waiting to pay such prices to be the first ones to have the GTR.

The number is impressive. It certainly would've been more impressive if they were at least dynojet numbers, and not dynopack.

Realistically I can not see more than a full second shaved off from the 1/4 time, with moderate modding.

Not likely, the GTR is running the same times as a Z06 (11.6 vs. 11.7), GM is already stating that because of traction, the 0-60 times aren't going to be alot different but in the 1/4, 0-100, top speed etc. the ZR1 is going to be much faster then the Z06. What does all that mean?? It means the ZR1 is going to rip the GTR a new asshole. Look for it to run equal 0-60 times but be a full second faster in the 1/4.

^^corvette fan boy here. i highly doubt the z06 will beat a gtr in the 1/4 mile. Traction is most important in the first few seconds and the gtr will have the z06 beat dry/wet etc. However, after around 60-80mph the z06 will pull but by then the 1/4 is already over

save the fan boy crap for the 18 yrs. olds on the forum. You can think whatever you'd like, but opinions and are nothing but words, numbers are numbers and the numbers show they run equal times. There are plenty of stock Z06's running mid-low 11's which I'm sure the GTR is capable of in the hands of the right driver.

Once they get the US and people can run the 2 head to head we'll know for sure.

but i have faith on it that it won't be too bad

you know, RWD + Rear engine isn't a good formula either, but take a GT3 for a spin...enough said.

Bro...I love corvette, I truly do....But I want some exclusivity.....I have always hated the fact that the ZO6 and the base corvette looks so similiar.......!

The 480hp vs 620hp difference might have something to do with that. Even if the GTR might actually be making around 540hp, the ZR1 still has 500lbs advantage.

Well it is once rolling.

Considering the ZO6 and Viper are both RWD and have between 505-600 hp they both rip to 60 in about 3.5 seconds and get through the 1/4 mile in low 11's @ 125+ mph.

The ZR1 will probably be a high 10's @ 130 mph car stock.

Stock for stock the GT-R doesn't have a chance if the ZR-1 driver learns to launch his car well.
Sure the GT-R will probably get 1-2 CL's ahead at the launch because of it's launch control and AWD, but then the ZR-1 will be coming hard and walk right on by as triple digits approach.

Though, since the ZR-1 is $30K more it's not comparable.
The ZO6 is in the same price range, but even it, when rolling will pass the GT-R.

ZO6 is trapping 125 on average and up to 127 mph.
The GT-R will probably be a 120 mph average car with 122 on the high side.

Keep in going up to 150 and the ZO6 will just keep pulling away as it's NA RWD and 600 or so lighter and more aerodynamics go to work.

GT-R is a badass car, and will be a mod monster, but so is the ZO6 and the ZR-1 will be too.

LOL, dude in those cars with that power, you haven't even hit the 1/8th mile yet. By 80 mph the 1/4 mile race wouldn't even be 1/3rd the way through yet.
