I like Obama's personality. I disagree with his political views. He is far better than what he beat tonight.

Huckabee can take him.

Wake up. Nothing will change, regardless of who is elected. You'll get out of bed, shower, go to your crappy job, work, come home, and sit in front of the TV/PC/XBox. In 6 years, we'll be invading another country, ignoring poverty, paying little money to shitty teachers, praising corporations, and eagerly idolizing the next shitty celebrity. By necessity, all politicians are lying sacks of shit. They're all the same person. How much will your life change if Huckabee is elected and not Obama?

I don't think they are anywere near that close on the issues. Maybe we should put together a point-by-point comparison. Without a doubt there will be lots of these comparisons if in fact these two candidates win their party nominations.

Obama is nowhere near the center. He is a long way toward the liberal side.

Very accurate and sober analysis.

But the American people need entertainment and the election is just another show that keeps them happy. TV commercials rule our life.

The issues they bicker about don't matter. The middle class, abortion, "creating jobs" (lol, i love that one). are all a distraction.

The real issues that matter, like the insolvency of Social Security, the growing Socialist approach to medicine, and completely borked accounting system of the Fed, will limit American freedoms more than the last 100 years combined. You don't hear about any of that in the stump speeches though. It's not emotionally charged enough to appeal to the average American. It's not exciting enough. It's not sexy or scary. It's also largely over America's head.

That's why we listen to people like Obama speak so passionately about absolutely nothing with interest. He speaks so well, but just states huge generalities and nicities, and America responds positively. Listen to him speak. It's not just him either. 90% of our candidates don't actually talk about anything. "I'll fight for the middle class" "Change we can believe in" "A new era of leadership"

WTF does all that mean? LOL It's a goddamned circus side show, and we're all completely enamored by it.

I do fear the Clinton-type tax increases that I feel the Dem's will bring with them. We waste enough money of the current tax revenue stream, we don't need more to waste. I'd like to see us start with a line-item veto, at least for spending bills, and go from there.

The weak dollar isn't always a bad thing either. It's making it more expensive for us to send work overseas.

That's why liberals shouldn't vote. Let us on the more conservative side of the divide at least feel better about having our guy in there while you people of great enlightenment understand that it just doesn't matter who is president.

I pretty much agree with you on this statement.

Where the greatest differences can be seen is not what you get on television. It is through reading information about policy positions. It is by reading other peoples careful analysis of the guy's record. It is by using some discernment. In some things you can read between the lines.

Oh, and e90im … instead of putting a democrat in the White House, just go and pay the IRS more taxes … or move to Cuba or Canada to get your health care … or boycott big oil if you think they are ripping you off at the pumps. And by the way, let me educate you a little bit … the government makes more in a gallon of gas, through its taxes on gas, then does the oil companies. Maybe you and Neurorad should start watch the number one rated cable news network … you would probably sound more educated then you do!

Go Propaganda! Stop watching Fox, and think for yourself. You've just regurgitated all the spin that you've heard on the news. Start questioning everything that you hear/read, instead of preaching to someone who thinks very little of your intelligence.

FNC has a fiscal and political agenda promoted by its owner, Rupert Murdoch. I can't argue with that - free country, but I'm not going to listen to biased crap for news. 'Fair and balanced' is a lie.

Stop reading this subforum, if the truth bothers you that much.

It's not Fox news. Whether it's Hillary's massive national health care plan, or any other Democrat's expanded social program initiatives, they all included increased taxes on Americans. Look at how they expect to fix our dying social programs like Medicare and Social Security. Rather than fix the broken programs, they just throw more money at them.

That plus the fact that liberals want to engineer a class system (which is the scariest, orwellian proposal I've ever seen) by taxing one class to support another and "save" or "preserve" yet another is the most anti-american act I've ever seen.

This government wasn't created to force one class to pay for another, or to manufacter and work for certain classes at the expense of others. Take a Constitution Class.

Keep Socialism out of America, and vote Republican. They're not perfect, but at least they're not chasing a political structure that has ONLY failed on this earth since it's inception. That's why I think Liberals are blind. How many times does Socialism have to wreck a society before they figure out it doesn't work?

1) Another "educated" approach to solution -- leave if you don't like it. Basically saying -- I don't care about my own children's future as long as my republicans sit in the WH...

2) THe propaganda of O'Riley has brainwashed you all the way... Then explain me and others you mentioned above why did the oil companies have RECORD profits on order of $10B/quarter -- more than any other US corporation EVER... How is that justified that they are just doing honest business, but their profits are the size never seen before. Yep, they do care about us. How about the quarterly profit of $5B/qt and price of gas <$2/gal?

Use your brain next time you make any comment...

WOW, a complete nonsence!
Tell us how the healthcare system has failed ANYONE in Canada, UK, France, Serbia, Croatia... Please explain it to us.
I will give you 40M examples on how our healthcare system failed our own people.

It appears that you disagree with Neurorad's premise that whoever is the president doesn't matter because they are all the same.

Just between you and me, I disagree with Neurorad, too. But if he believes essentially that, then my contention is that he need not vote.

on the brink of collapse? Have you looked at the overall economic expansion in this country the last eight years???

Clinton rode the coat tails of Regan's investment in technology. Clinton didn't do dick to keep the pipeline full. Bush has managed quite well the crap that he inherited from Clinton. Is bush the best ever? Hell no. Am I better off now than I was 8 years ago? Hell yes. Are you so ignorant that you're going to blame a sliding dollar and increasing inflation on one person??? You really don't understand economics very well.

Yes, use your brain. It's capitalism. I love it. We still have the cheapest gas in the industrialized world.

You don't like the inflation we are seeing? So do you know the number one driver of inflation right now, and for the past 10 years? China. Number 2? India.

They are consuming raw materials at such a rapid rate it's driving prices up around the world, in everything from guns to butter. Add to that the energy consumption, and there goes your gas prices. Simple supply and demand is dictating oil prices. Is there a problem with a company reaping a reward for its investment? Oil companies have spent hundreds of billions of dollars developing the energy infrastructure of this world. Yes, they are making a killing. If they have any brains at all, they'll realize the oil won't flow for ever and they're plugging money into R&D for other energy sources. I doubt they are, but I don't think many large public companies have much collective intelligence.

BTW, do you know who started the China and India movement at it's current level? Clinton.

Why do we have such a weak dollar? The US in not a desireable place to invest right now. For many reasons. But that weak dollar is helping our export business.

*edit* let me explain the profit.....pump oil from the ground in established fields....sell at record prices.....any other questions?

If it's so damn good, why are people from Canada and the UK seeking medical care in the US?
