Do you still have the allocation available? Can I set up for Euro Delivery?

Thanks.
The Cold Weather might go in favor of just the heated seats. Extended leather might be scratched as well.

My line of thinking exactly on the cold weather and extended leather options. I really would like to see extended leather in person before making a call.

I'm glad I moved to where I don't need cold weather pkg As for extended leather - think I'd rather use those $$ for EDC

yup. i won't get either. first of all, i don't drive the car in the winter (have the ix and x5 for the wife). secondly, i'm mostly interested in performance and driving satisfaction, so extended leather is not of interest to me. actually i'd be happier if they offered a cloth sport interior but alas. i would drop the idrive/nav too but i'm planning to get m-drive/edc and it seems like one cannot fully make use of the adjustability without the idrive.

Something to keep in mind (and that I just realized after reading your post). I opted for Heated Seats vs. Cold Weather package becasue I don't want the washers.

However since the car has Xenons & Washers standard in Europe, I doubt there will be a European bumper available without the washers cutouts. So if you plan on swapping out the US bumper for the European one, you may want to keep that in mind, I may switch my order to Cold Weather Package to avoid this issue since I plan on installing a Euro bumper.

Not sure about that but the parts catalogue seems to have a Euro version front bumper without headlight washers:

Interesting. I had checked realeom.com prior to posting but they haven't added the E92 M3 yet.

If that's the only difference, a pro body shop should be able to make all that go away relatively inexpensively. I would assume swapping the entire bumper would cost more?

I can see ordering a Euro front bumper easily exceeding $600. Plus paint. So if you look at it from another perspective... would you pick a $600 reflector delete option? I wouldn't, while it might be annoying it certainly isn't such a bain that I'd shell out that kind of money to fix it.

Just paint the reflectors and tell people its front PDC!

The only difference is the reflector. A bodyshop could modify the bumper but it would cost more than you might think (~$200-300) and would never be the same as a factory part.

European bumpers can be ordered painted. I don't recall the exact price for the E46. $600 +/- $150 sounds about right. The factory bumper can be resold for a few hundred most likely reducing the net cost.

In terms of the more general question of why, my response is: different strokes for different folks.

I didn't know you could order factory bumpers painted. A good body shop can match the paint well in a small area provided it's not something unusual like Jerez. But I agree that that's subjective.
