F**king Video games consoles!

Christ! I just got in from a night of drinking with my friends and was going to sit down and play a little uncharted (ps3). A game I picked up this afternoon with my earned reward zone points!

When to my surprise the PS3 menu didn't see the disk!

So I just restarted it hoping it was just a little glitch, right? NOPE!!:sad0147:

No fucking way! I doesn't see any disk I put in there! Game, Blu ray movie, DVD, nothing!

A quick google search found it was a problem that I am going to have to send my PS3 away for!!! I understand these things happen. I am mister Cutting edge, (reading the lasted Clive Barker on my Kindle, looking at my EEE pc, and waiting for the next cool tech) but this is the first time ever I have been angry at a technology company! (I am pretty forgiving because I am such an early adopter)

Like I said, I am mister Cutting edge. But this Gen of video game consoles is crap! I bought all 3 on opening day and so far, the xbox has been sent back and replaced 4 times, the wii once, and now the PS3!!

I know this is not the place that I will get alot of responses, but I just wanted to vent and complain!

yea..mine is in a closet...but I bet it would work great if I plugged it in...never had a problem with mine either...it is just this generation..

The problem is that there's more parts to go wrong in this gen of consoles. They're more complex so it's obviously gonna break more easily. It's like cars: the more tech crap they throw in the less reliable it's gonna be.

Oh yeah...I totally understand it, does not deny that it is bull shit! :sad0147:

Every update to technology includes big parts upgrade (more to go wrong like you said) but you could have made the same argument when the ps2 came out, and the first xbox. But I never had a single problem with either of them. But Every single one of the consoles on the market right now has broken (for me at least)!

I am now on the phone with sony and the expected wait time is 28 mins!

I was hoping to play this on my christmas break. But if it is anything like microsofts repairs, 4 to 8 weeks!

Yeah i know..

I got off the phone with them a while ago..They told me about 14 days is the average time it takes to get me a replacement!

So from the sounds of it this PS3 issue is specific to this game disc but your other games are recognized? Not like an XBOX red ring...

nope...the drive has gone bad and it can not recongize any disk, Blu-ray movie, game, dvd, ps2 game...nothing.

It just does not show up at all on the Ps3 menu!

Hey oneshare325,

I was just curious as to which version do you have? I'm guessing it's either the 20g or 60g since you got it on the first day...

sucks about happened, hope you get it fixed before the holidays...I know that sony has always had its past problems with first-gen consoles, but it's the first i've heard about the ps3 having problems...

60..I know right!

A google search found that of the few problems this console has had this is the most common. Nothing of course to the red ring of death, but I guess this happens

BB and CC only do 30 days, I had to deal with sony, and the replacement service!

Seems like it's always been that same problem for most sony consoles...I remember I had to get my ps1 replaced once and my ps2 replaced 3 times just because of that crap...and the nerves that sony wanted charge me so much to fix the damn thing.

returned it each time to costco and got a brand new one

My Wii and 80GB PS3 have been nothing but perfect...I could imagine the frustration of having a console fawk up though.

Yeah I know the 360 problem is a big one, but I think the PS3 has a very very small failure rate, guess it is just my luck!

haha Good for you! I had a problem with my wii the first week, couldn't connect to the controllers, but all I did there was replace it at best buy. Nothing so far on this wii though. I play it so rarely though!

Not surprised. I don't think I know anyone who has an xBox/360 that hasn't sent it in at least once. A guy at works brother just sent his back for either the 3rd or 4th time.

Playstation has always seem to be very reliable. Sorry to hear you're having issues. Don't really play video games much anymore, but sure I may get a PS3 down the road since I have one and two.

I feel you...I haven't bought the 360 because I am not sure the glitches are worked out. No prob with our Wii
