what is the smaller and the higher tax rate applied (and for which states) ?

thanks,

so between 4 and 7.25

which mean for the worst case in california:

MSRP price + 7.25% + USD 750 for delivery.

whatever the price will be, when we see the estimation you are giving (50 000 - 60 000 USD MSRP), this is incredibely low compared to what we are paying here.
do not ask why european people are crying to the price you are speaking ..... this is so low !

Considering that the results of the accounts of BMW are in EUR, they have to account on that, and i understand they have a very hard work to fix the price of the M3.

Hi all-

I was recently quoted an estimated 48000 for the E90 M3 sedan through military sales, although my dealer said that the probably date of the price release will be around Feb/Mar. Seems to be in line with the 50k estimate for the M3 coupe....

My thoughts also - and also wait for some of the pre- and just post-release fervour to die down... I dislike not having ANY negotiating power

+1 , 2009 is looking more and more likely for me as well...I am on the bubble between ordering a car with almost no options, or waiting to see what develops for 09...yes, the hype is truly dying down.

I'm in California, and the state of California may charge "only" 7.25% tax, but local governments can and do charge extra taxes on top of the 7.25%. Such taxes must, I believe, be subject to voting and a supermajority (2/3, I believe) must approve them.

So, in my area for example, the tax is actually 8.25%, as there are extra taxes adding 1% more than the state rate of 7.25%

I like our Oregon sales tax -- 0.0%! Of course we have a healthy income tax. Seattle, Washington area (King County) is at 8.9% total sales tax, i believe.
