OP - What is your secret? I'm pretty good at lift and coast but having trouble unlocking expert mode.

I didn't read all the post but this happened to me when I fill up ( or get gas ) with the car running... That was in my 07 335 my 13 m3 does not do this not sure if this was a bug with in the years.

Lol, I had that happen long ago and then after driving around 20k miles it started to come down, ie. 87.3 > 67.6 > 52.9 etc. Then one day I turned the car off, and then pushed to start button to ACC mode and then use the turn signal stalk to see my mpg with the engine off, it went back to 99.9 and has remained here still.

Had this happen a few months ago. Went away when they reset it at the dealership while the car was in for brake fluid.
