Gents,
I was just wondering if anyone has a supersprint cat back fitted to their car? I'm interested to know how loud it gets? I find that they aren't as common as other exhausts so I was hoping that an enthusiast is able to give me feedback. YouTube has got minimal e92 supersprint videos. My M/// is a dct too... Is supersprint sport a yay or nay? |

I loved the sound from the supersprint.
I sold it because I had an E90 supersprint setup for my E92.. so it didn't fit 100%. I'd buy it again. Here's a vid I took when I had it on my E92 M3 |

I had SS Race mufflers on my e90 and loved em. Pretty loud for just mufflers with no drone at all.
I am currently running a Hartge Rear section, (same as SS Sport) with a catless x pipe and 4 12" resonators and it sounds freaking unreal. Very exotic, high pitched under throttle and VERY LOUD, but absolutely no drone at all. Also, cruising it can be almost silent, but when you get on it, it get's very loud. Running a sport rear section with a catless x pipe it really the best option as it gives you a very loud car when you want it, but also can be very quiet when just cruising w/ no intrusive cabin noise. I have the Hartge Rear section as well but with stock x pipe. It has a little bit more bass than stock, no drone and not loud at all. You can hear it when rpm goes up but not overriding the engine sound!

No shit! I thought I maybe had like the only one around. It's really a great muffler and the big single can is nice. Now, SS doesn't make the single can anymore, it's still one piece but just has a center pipe (looks identical to Evolve Unit made by SS). |

Some great videos here thanks for this. It will most certainly make the decision process a bit easier.
I have been eyeing a second hand Supersprint catback muffler but just wasn't too sure on why it didn't sell thus far. The asking price is $1500 (AUD). These things generally go pretty quickly in Australia for that price so I wanted to see if it's the brand name that people steered away from. I hope that the cabin noise as well as the exterior sound aren't too loud. |

I'm running the full setup including the High Flow Cats and it puts a smile to my face everytime, and the lots of attention. And the added power is great as well. Just make sure you get a tune such as Evolve or any others

My thoughts were that a tune is an absolute only when a full exhaust is installed. Does a tune have any value for when its just a catback exhaust install? |

If you're doing full exhaust, no cats..etc.. then you'd want a tune so you're not getting annoyed with the check engine light always on. (since your front and rear O2 sensors will be reading the same value) Last edited by Dr. Anthony; 06-09-2014 at 11:16 PM.. |

Yes, sure, but all vendors are selling "canned" tunes. Not dynoing the cars. People seem to have pretty good results, but whether running a tune or not, the car will make pretty good power just removing the cats and doing a full exhaust. The tune will code out the Check Engine light also.

Sorry, i meant to run a tune for when you get a full exhaust, but when you're running just the the mufflers you should be fine
