Fitler change vs Intake

I heard some vids with an intake and thought it really opened up the engine sound. Also the engine feels like it wants more air when I press the pedal down half way and the torque stops.

I was wondering how in the world an intake would be better than the boxed in cold air induction from the front intakes, but I figured the filter design must be that much better.

I spoke with Alekshop on the phone and he said it's a waste of money to do an intake because the filter change provides about the same HP difference, unless I care about the sound.

What are your experiences?

Love the sound of either leading intake, Dinan or MS. Makes a big difference intake sound wise IMO.

The MS intake will def improve pedal feel and sound.

There's a noticeable difference with just a drop in filter.

One of my buddies made a comment after I put in a filter, "did you get an intake or something?"

As always, I suggest you really evaluate if that extra sound or possible power is worth it:

OK, not sure what that test report was about.. it's for diesel engines. The only brands I recognize for my car is AFE, which makes intake filters, and K&N. So don't buy a K&N.

How was that helping me decide on sound or power?
