rubbing/groaning noise (videos)

Just started having the rubbing noise as of late, only happens on tight right turns, does nothing when turning left. Only make at low speeds. Also sounds like noise is there but not as pronounced at speeds 20mph and under. Everything is stock, not lowered.

don't think its rear differential noise, not sure
made an appointment for service but cant get in until end of June

please see videos

i have the same rubbing noise at slow speeds. I assumed it was the ABS or the brake system priming up the brakes. I am at about 45k miles on my original pads. I'd also like to know what it is.

It's the differential ,you need the updated fluid change !
I had exactly the same problem and at my BMW/Dealer they put some extra updated lubricant bottle with the differential fluid ,and I never heard it again !

Be careful with the fluid. Groaning is actually normal, chatter is not. When the temps drop, we get more complaints about the diff groaning. If you move to more friction modified fluid, you're taking away from the diff doing its locking job.

The new lube is ONLY for those who complain about the noise; those who know, and want the diff to do its job, leave the non FM fluid in there.

Diff - leave it alone. No need FM fluid unless the noise really bothers you.
