Ohlins and Swift spring combination

I recently got the Ohlins R & T coil overs with Swift springs with higher spring rates than the standard Ohlins springs that come with the set up. After reading, chatting, watching and generally over thinking the final decision, I made the big, and costly, move to go this direction over many other options. After installation along with the Vorshlag camber plates, corner balancing and alignment, the car looked to sit much higher in the front than it should. I compared online photos, stock competition pack photos and pics of my car before. The shop said they matched the height from stock, my request, but it looked noticeably higher. I had many people look and agree with me on this. I took it back to the shop, they lowered it more and it still looked higher than what I feel was a good looking height, especially compared to the rear. The installer said that there was hardly anymore room to lower it further and this was nearly maxed out.
I have a certain amount of faith in the shop that did the install, but still got a second opinion from another reputable shop and they agreed the install was done properly and there was a little more room to lower, but not a lot.
The original shop contacted Ohlins who told them the spring rates of the Swift springs were too high and they needed to reset the struts to compensate for this fact. Their recommendation was to put the original springs back on the system or send them the struts to be adjusted.
I find this almost outrageous and totally insane. What the hell should I do?
Has anyone heard of anything similar?

Talk to who you purchased the kit from, they should help you out.
What length springs did they supply you with?

Sorry for your trouble. Going up on spring rate to a certain point requires springs to be shorter. Example. For no particular car.. Eibach race springs...450 lb for example could run a 5 inch spring in front and have xx adjustability before bottoming out the shock. If I jump to a 1000 lb spring, will have to go to 4 inch as the weight of the car will not compress the 1000lb enough.

So what do you do. Easy, either get a shorter spring....or swap back to the original ones as opposed to the swifts.

Reading your post again. The easy thing to do is put the original springs on. Not nearly as hard a job as sending struts back in.

+1 on putting original springs on. I have ohlins R&T coilovers and from what i hear, its better to leave original set up alone, as higher rate springs may shorten dampers life significantly. If you cant even get to the hight you want with swift springs, then just go back to original set up and if you dont like it, sell it and go to another set up. Just my 2 cents.

I don't see how adjusting the shocks would really help you when the weight on the car isn't compressing the spring enough to give you the ride height you want. I would go back to the original springs...

The higher rate springs is stiffer which means they don't compress as much when the car is sitting on the ground. Just go back to stock springs or get slightly shorter springs in the same spring rate if you want to keep that spring rate.

Depending how high a spring rate you went, the shock may not be matched with the spring rate so it might involve revalving the shocks to match.

I got ohlins rt as well and using the original ohlins spring. The ride is great. On a hard setting (4-7) is super firm. I can't imagine you needing it harder. But jack one side and take a pic. So we can look at adjustments

Did you wait couple weeks to settle the springs?
It will drop a lot when it settles...do you have a picture?
