We all have good taste otherwise we wouldn’t be here but for many of us the appeal of the E9X M3 apart from all the other brilliant design features and sheer beautiful design is the V8 motor. There is something just magic about having a relatively small car powered with a V8. Going back to early days the same could be said of the Torana SLR5000 V8 in a relative way. The notion of a smaller more compact car having that sound and power normally reserved for a much bigger car is special and it puts the E9x M3 in a category never to be repeated..... No matter what anyone says.

Every car forum I have been on has been deflated by what the members have seen so far. BMW M really need to reassess their product and target audience. But then again maybe they have and enthusiasts aren't who they are pitching it at.

Go to the M4/M3 here to see the target audience. Getting good mpg and hauling around kids and groceries while going to the track every so often was the purpose of the car. It's a luxury grand tourer much to my horror.

I watched the Autocar review as well last night, seems the car is spot on bar the engine according to the review.

I love turbo 6's, having driven skyline's and GTR's for many years so for me the engine is no negative. Having driven a few E92's now the engine is great and appealing, but a well setup turbo 6 with the right gearing can easily match its response and willingness. Now for the but, the N/A induction roar takes me back to Datsun 1600's with twin 45mm webber's, so i'll got that now haha.

Any guesses on pricing?

I hate the fact that we get ripped so hard on the price compared to other countries like the US.

Chris Harris has spoken " Amen"
Also there is a pretty cool vid/review on Bmwblog. It was posted 3 days ago so most of you will not need the link /http://www.bmwblog.com/2014/05/09/20...-video-review/

The car does not sound too bad on this vid! Much better than what could be heard in previous vids. Seems like it just needs to be kept in high revs to avoid sounding like a Husqvarna.
