Surely you jest, sir! Detectors are illegal in VA!

There is K out there. Ask around the LEO community.

Loudoun Sheriff uses K for patrol I believe. Photo radar uses K and is also very low power so little warning and appears as false alarm.

There are a lot of detector detectors out there. The cops are very skilled (and aggressive) about sniffing them out.

There are some higher end detectors that have been out almost a decade now which are immune from said " radar detector detectors".
I've been using a beltronics sti since 2005 ish and have never been caught(with a detector)in VA.
It has saved me from many tickets since then.
I can't imagine driving an entertaining car without a radar detector, even in VA.

get a beltronics sti magnum; it has anti-RDD, so VA cops won't know you have it

One of the things they like to do is cruise in an unmarked car and flip their radar to instant-on... and watch for the brake lights.

There is more than one way to skin a cat.

At the end of the day, a non moving violation ticket under $100 beats a speeding ticket, court fees, insurance increase, etc.
Been using my old sti for a while and no speeding tickets since.
Imho police would rather nail someone for 20 mph over then a small radar detector ticket.

If you hide it well enough and are using a rdd with " stealth technology" you won't get caught.

If you have an older design and you are the only one on the road then you are toast if the Leo is using a radar detector detector.

I've seen a few with the radar mirror display and the actual radar detector mounted inside the rear headrest. Cool, clean setup. Leo is never going to find it lol

ive also seen people hide it in a fabric cloth kit that attaches to your sun visor; almost like a mini office kit designed to hold pens, pads, etc. but instead used to hide your detector.

Up high on the tint strip beside the rear view mirror. Flip the visor down so its not visible. You only really need the audible alert.

Thanks for reply. What about the power cable, how do you route it to the charger?

Most likely people route the wire from the headliner down the A pillar and into the fusebox to keep everything hidden.

I don't want to start a new thread but I hope I get some response from members. Is Radar detectors useful anymore (even for exp ones) all I see nowadays are Lidar. I didnt see a single radar in Canada and here in Virginia. Please let me know before making a 500 purchase.

My RD has been very useful here in MD. There are several traps near my work and I always know the LEO's are there in plenty of time. LEO's in my area are lazy and leave their Radars at full blast.

Make sure you don't purchase a ticket detector (cobra, et al).

Radardetectorforum.org was my place for research.

Proper set up instant on radar or lidar you are toast.

You could purchase a laser jammer/shifter if you needed to go all out.

I know someone who purchased one of the newest radar detector/laser jammer installed for just under 2gs. I believe it is made by escort. It is all integrated and undetectable I believe( by spectre)
