Key FOB battery only lasts a week

Howdy,

I have CA on my MY 10 M3. The issue seems the battery only works a week or two before needing replacement.

Once drained, the key fob working range is very limited, especially on the trunk access.

What causes this? Im tired of buying cr 2032 in bulk.

I would first test the voltage of the battery removed from the remote if range is 'limited' but the key still functions.

Test your battery first. If you have Comfort access then try to keep the key fob as far as possible from your car.
