I tried using the ELM 327 and it took 10 mins to just verify connection and took forever to diagnose even one option. I gave up on it. I was using bluetooth option on the android.

This one looks pretty cool, was about to buy it to try it out but looks like it's mainly for android:
http://www.amazon.com/ScanTool-42610...6N4VJH91FV785M This one is also called the ELM327, I wonder if that's the chipset used? I'm going to be building an app to flash the car over bluetooth, will buy a few of these and report back which is the best.

I have the exact same experience. Takes forever to verify the connection, it finally says its connected but when I test for codable ECU's it reads back zero.

I got an email a few days ago looking for testers for the ECUs they just added to the app. The E9x M3 ECU is one if those. Got an email 45 min later that they got all the taters they need. No indication when the update will be out of testing. This might be the issue for people trying to code? Dunno.

Any updates on whether this app works for E92 M3's ECU? A couple post up there was mentioning of this being in a testing phase.

So I downloaded the "Lite" version and it seemed to read a code for me and prompted me to send it back to them.
I didn't see anywhere to look for service light reading. Is that part of the "Code reading?" .

Using an ELM 327 as well without issue. Coded my central locking to be selective unlock for my active keys yesterday afternoon, and worked out great.

I'm a total noob in regards to coding. What happens if you lose connection in the middle of the coding process ? I'm worried about spotty wifi

Anyone know what code E104 is? I got the full version of this, but I can't seem to find much on this code. .
