Anyone know a good place to get the windshield replaced for a reasonable price that is NOT the dealer in either Columbus or Chicago? I have a crack in my windshield

I'd rather not use my insurance and file a claim. My deductible is 500 and the safelite price is 450...

Do you need a new glass or just a repair? Sounds like a new glass, which stinks. I had one replaced in a 4runner once though and it was fine.

Double check the laws and your policy. Many times glass claims are not subject to a deductible and will cost you nothing.

Also note where the crack is . In light of sight, there is not fixing it. Just an FYI Safelite is the one who fixes cracks/chips and it's really just a superglue formula pressed into the damaged area to seal and prevent spreading. It still leaves a mark/damaged spot in the glass.

ill post a pic later, its in the lower drivers side corner, mostly in the black area (the area you can't see). Its tragic really, I was closing my hood and my battery tender was inadvertently sandwiched between the glass and my hood and the glass cracked lol.

Agree, check your policy for glass claims.

Anyway, I've used these guys on several vehicles and they've done good work each time:
