Waiting for development to conclude on turbocharging. May consider it or SC in future for sure! Driven SC and was very impressed by linear increase in power and how driveable the car was. The caracter of the motor was still very apparent. Loved it!

The Corsa is an unbelievable tire. This is the best OEM setup IMO
Nice, thanks. Really considering these still as they sound like a great aggressive street tire w/tracking prowess as well. Notice any traction control issues as per Dave07997S experience ?

The experience I have with the DSC on is really a non issue for me. It still allows you to slip a tad, just shuts you down if you try to powerslide out of a corner a little more intrusively than when having the OEM sizes. I fugure if I want to drive like this..turn off the DSC.

Thanks Dave - I may be putting to much emphasis on this point, but as the rears wear faster and the front/rear OD differential increases, will it have an even more intrusive effect? I assume it depends if the factory DSC settings of our cars vs the GTS factory DSC settings are the same. If the same, no issue, but if the GTS settings are simply set to the 255/35/19 - 285/30/19 OD variance then it may increase the intrusion as our cars' DSC is set up for more initial OD variance. Different baselines if you will.

Only time and experience will tell I guess - how many miles on your current set up ?

You are over analyzing this...I ran my first set of Nittos beyond the treadbar and yes there was more slippage but I attribute this due to the fact the rears needed to be replaced. I have 19k miles on the car, I sold the OEM tires at 1400 miles so since then. Replaced the rears about 2k miles ago.

Of course I am Dave, it's a car forum

A place to hypothesize about the insignificant intricacies of our cars and beat them to death - I think this process makes up about half the posts on this forum.

My curiosity still remains however as to the possible impact of OD variance from factory ZCP tires to factory GTS sizing and the resulting impacts on the DSC. Having said that, it does not make me shy away from running the GTS sizing.

Just exploring the "what ifs" and seeking others to beat the steed -

The only 275 size for RE-11s is 275/30 which is 1) pretty short and 2) unlikely to rub even with a big drop.

My car without spacers running a 255/35/19 and a 285/30/19.

Dave

Wow, see these tires in the rear look like they were made for the width of the rim. The side wall is flush with the tire, that's the way my 328 tires were. The fronts you can see a bit of rounding, but it's not as bad as the OEM tires which even when I saw it at the dealer was like WTF is wrong with those tires, they buldge so much. I don't know why the M3 isn't 255/280 stock.

What sucks is that the 285/30 does not have Michilin Pilot Super Sport pair in those sizes. They only have 285/35 which is too big. But the 275/35 is available. Damn. I really want those fatty tires.

There are other tires available now that are as good as the Mich PSS or darn near it. The Continental Contisportcontact 5Ps are an incredible tires and are available in a 285/30/19 as these are the OEM sizes for the AMG cars. I had these and this is what I am going back to when my Toyo T1Sports are done
