F30 Stance?

Anyone notice how high the new F30 BMW sits compared to the E90? There is also a noticeable floppiness in the ride quality compared to the older generation.

I get the whole engine swap but that characteristic ride height and handling is what makes a BMW so special. Why is BMW departing from this now?

Wait...are you comparing general F30s to E90s? Or the F30 M3 vs the E90 M3?

If you're comparing the M3's...how did you notice the stance difference? In pictures/videos? Or at an auto show? Post pics because I honestly can't remember seeing it.

Sorry yes the general non M F30 to the E90. I realize now this may not have been the right forum to post this question.

My GF just turned in her 2011 328 (E90) for a 2014 328 (F30) and the ride height and handling differences are very noticeable

This come down to corp profits, they want to maximize sales. How do you achieve that by appealing to masses and not enthusiast they halo cars for that such as M3,M5 and M6. The masses are looking for luxury, and status and could care less about stance and actual would prefer softer ride. Case in point the most popular BMW with highest sale is 328 and I see more women and older people driving them and that demographic is not concerned with areas I mention there looking for more creature comforts better mpg, softer more complaint ride and BMW built what they wanted.

BMW has slipped bit for 2013 C&D,R&T, and several other auto rags, and internet mags have stated such just look at two perfect examples when 335xi was compared to IS350 F sport the Lexus beat 335 not in power or 0-60, 1/4 times 335 was slightly faster, Is350 had better handling, driver feel, and was just the more fun car to drive that was same with 5 serious vs GS F sport. BMW became more Lexus and Lexus more like BMW go figure.

It will be interesting to see how new M4 will match up against new Lexus coupe RC-F.
