old spyshot - style 260 confusion

Wasn't sure if this should go in Photo or Wheel section. Kinda related to alittle of both.

When I first saw these spyshots almost a year ago I fell in love with these rims. Many of you will remember this photo and other spyshots with these rims. They aren't style 260. Anyone know which they are?

They are style 260, but not done in the gun metal finish BMW decided to offer for the series production. Sorry to say that, but they aren't available in this "brighter" coating/finish.

BTW: I think wheels section would have been right.

I hope it's not the finish that's throwing me off. I really don't think they are Style 260.

These rims are the same style. The second picture you posted shows the gun metal finish that's used for series production.

They are very similar. Spokes are not the same. Their curve and thickness.

. Combination of the finish and lighting sure can throw things off.

Canadian brochure calls the 18s "Style 219M". Are they really different from the style 260M offered elsewhere? And if so, could the first pic be them?

That's possible, but the Canadian brochure also says "dark finish" for the 219M wheels. The wheels on the first pic don't seem to have a dark finish.

True, south. I just really am curious about the reason for the 219M designation in Canada.

Don't have a clue either! Is it possible that (U.S./Canadian) sales psychology is the reason, i.e. the more expensive wheel must get the higher number? ...just a thought.
