TPMS low tire on opposite side?

Has anyone experienced a TPMS indicate "low tire" for one tire, BUT it's actually the OPPOSITE tire which checked low?

Anyone know why?

No. They came with the wheels bought from private owner

Sometimes when wheels get moved from say side to side, some cars will think they are still in that spot. Just have to have the sensors re-calibrated. Some shops have a wand that takes like 2 mins to make it relearn all the corners.

If it has the OE BMW/Huf sensors then when you reset the system it will auto locate the sensors in the new positions. If you have a set of the replica sensors they don't communicate with the car giving it the correct data and will not auto locate.

What did you do to fix the problem?

It was at the end of when I was purchasing my 2013, so I just decided to leave it since I knew it was the opposite side that showed. I would go back to the installer of tmps sensors or whoever put the rims on your car.

Since the tires are directional and sensors are aftermarket, you would have to get them unmounted and swap the TPMS sensors left to right. Aftermarket sensors are programmable, so another route you could go is to find out what brand the sensors are and see if any local shop has the ability to re-program them for you.

Either method will require physically removing the tires/TPMS sensors from the rims. We would also recommend rebuilding the TPMS at that time to avoid any leaking seals. Good luck
