Works pretty well, you should try it.

Never said M3 sounds or performs better than 458/430/F12/lambo or even a Maserati. Just said I wouldn't trade it for any.

To be honest, whoever says they prefer their M3 to a Ferrari/Lambo is happier than any of us with M3's. And at the end of the day, we drive M3's to be happy. While 99% of us would love nothing more than to upgrade to a Ferrari/Lambo or whatever exotic's out there, we have to realize that 99% of car enthusiasts around the world can only dream of an M3 and would probably beat our asses if they read how ungrateful we sound with our M3's.

It's simply human nature to always compare "upwards". I remember when I was in my residency and driving a Honda Prelude. One of the attending docs had a base Audi A4, and I was saying "someday". Now look.

Funny, when I was a resident I drove a CR-V and I always dreamed of a BMW. Now I'm in my 4th bmw over a span of 4 years.

All rubbish, the Maser is way too heavy. The ultimate trade would be to go to a E46 330i ZHP

A friend of mine picked one up few weeks ago so I went over to his condo for ride. I was able to drive Maserati for over hour on some back roads in Westchester County NY into Merritt Pkwy in CT had blast driving Mas GT that morning. Let me start by say Maserati GT is beautiful car but it not in same class of M3. This is true Luxury sports coupe with more emphasis on Luxurythan sport, the materials used, fit and finish are great. That 4.7L ferrari built motor, and noise it makes is just fantastic especially when you're ripping up and down gears at 120mph. This GT handles nicely, it's fast enough, has nice power 454hp/384tq, sounds great and has awesome road presence. Yes this car is on heavier side 4260lbs, yes it maybe few tenth of sec slower here or 1 sec slower there than some of it's more sport focused competitors but Maserati GT to me is true grand sport touring car made to cruise highways first and foremost in high luxury with very good performance it wasn't built to take on Ring or to be street and track type car such as P-cars or M3 nor will it handle or drive like M3. But that doesn't make it any less of desirable car it has it's own niche so if you're more into luxury first performance seconded and want something a little different IMO Mas GT wouldn't be bad choice.

These two cars are apples and oranges they have little in common, M3 is sport focused medium luxury sports coupe built spend time on track and street, while the other Maserati GT is high luxury sports coupe built to cruise highways both achieve their intended goals.

This was published by MT when they tested Maserati GT
Drive solo, and you may be surprised. I was. I wasn't sure what to expect with the handling, but it turned out to be as charming as the GranTurismo Sport's knockout snorts and crackles. The poised 49/51 percent front/rear weight distribution helps mask the car's 4260 pounds. Nailing the balance and chassis tune makes the GT Sport an exceedingly satisfying car to drive. Being in Sport mode is key - the throttle is touchier, the transmission shift logic is more aggressive, the steering is heavier, the shocks work a little harder, and you hear more of the Maserati bark. The steering presents the driver with a fine sense of control without overwhelming feedback, and the 245mm front and 285mm rear Pirelli PZeros allow 0.97 g of lateral grip. The car's load transfer is deliberate and it responds predictably during side-to-side transitions with encouraging precision - around the figure eight, its 24.9-second run equals our old long-term E90 BMW M3 (571 pounds lighter), amongst other performance-focused machines like a new Porsche Boxster and several Mercedes-Benz AMGs. That's solid company for a two-door that isn't trying to be a hard-edged land missile.

Pics of his Mas GT when I got to is condo for our drive great car a lot of fun.

And i also would choose a Gallardo over the Ferrari. The lines on the Lamborghinis are more solid, and the looks itself are more outgoing to me as opposed to the softer lines on the Ferrari.
I've driven a Gallardo and F430 for about 30 minutes each. Got to pound on them both through the twisties. The Gallardo is a boring and awkward-sized car. Feels like a GT car to me. The only selling point is the looks and sound it makes. The F430 pushes ALL the right buttons. Both were manual transmission cars.

Alot of people say that the f430 is the much better handling car and "feels" better.

But a the G takes the cake for me in the looks department. And thats all I need.

Actually that's not quite true - ultimate trade would be Ferrari 458 "up to" a tuned 335i...

Just buy a 335i, add $150k in mods, and PRESTO!! Still about $10-20k cheaper than 458, and slightly faster in a straight line - yeah baby!!!!

Just saw and heard this beauty.... Yeah, if the owner stepped out and said he'd trade me his car for my M3 straight up, I wouldn't refuse. The looks, the sounds, the presence is too good.

I currently own both and would not choose one over the other as they are completely different and great in their own right.
The M3 is phenomenal all rounder for DD or the track and my Mas is more of a stylish GT cruiser with great curves, sound and appeal
