Personally, I've set up an appointment with Reggie's for Tuesday to get my car up to the most recently published integration level. I may update here with my experience. Or, if you have any questions, feel free to PM me

Sounds good! I don't think it will blow your mind, but it is definitely something that should be done. I was one 231E but got 240E when I got tuned and with primary cat delete and pulley.

Not mind-blowing, I'm sure. However, from what I've gathered, 231E is when the most significant changes to the factory software occurred. So, if you're prior to that and you upgrade, you should see noticeable gains. Based on dynos in the 231E thread, people have seen as much as 20 hp gain when transitioning from prior to 231E to 231E or higher.

Also, since posting in this thread previously, I've done some additional research. Based on the key read I got done at the dealership this last year, I'm on integration level E89X-07-12-515. Based on that and on Benvo's software version thread, that would make my car's software pre-060 and pre-080. As it turns out, it's what is identified as "Legacy". It's the earliest software which can be on our cars. Makes sense, since it's a launch car.

So, hopefully, with such a great number of software versions between my car's current version and what has most recently been released, I'm hoping for a noticeable increase in power, smoothness, etc.

I haven't gotten the update yet. I've got an appointment at the dealer on Monday-Tuesday to get the absolute latest full integration level!

Reggie's was great! However, given that they have Autologic and no fiber optic adapter, they would've only been able to update the DME and certain modules. Specifically, they wouldn't have been able to update the stereo and navigation modules. So, since I liked the idea of having everything in the car updated and not just the DME, I decided to dealer up

All the key ones are done through autologic. The Fiberoptic ones take about 6 hours to do and I am not sure they are high yield at all.

Both Reggie's and the dealer are expecting very long update times. Reggie's originally said it'd take about eight hours. The dealer's having me bring it in of an afternoon so they can kick it off overnight.

Regarding the idea of high yield, has anyone seen any listing of the kinds of things addressed in the car for these various modules? Knowing that there updates of some sort for them, I didn't wanna miss 'em.

Yah I have a list at home, the non-most bus stuff takes 2 hours.. The fiberoptic stuff takes 7-8 hours. I forewent the fiberoptics and was done in 2 hours

Awesome! If you could post that up or send that to me, that'd be very helpful. I assume a lot of what's addressed are little bug fixes like Bluetooth connecting slowly and such.

Hmm looking at the paper it doesn't seem that helpful, it's just a report of what updates are needed.. Doesn't specify exactly the fix.... It does have the update numbers, perhaps we can Cross reference those. Ill post them up later

Good deal..thanks for the update. Didn't know there was so much updating (or two types of updating done).

I am officially pissed at the Rohrmans now. Went to change my oil and they stripped drain plugs...Pain the the butt to get out. Luckily I ordered new drain plugs when I ordered my oil.

Did it take the 8 hours or was it quicker? Any difference in the feel of the car?

Mine took 2.5 hours for the non fiber optic updates and it was super smooth after. I also perceived an improvement in midrange

OP, did you do the update from the dealer? I'm from Indiana too and seriously thinking about updating software of my car. And do you know any place that does OEM exhaust mod? Thanks!

I took the car in the night before--last Monday. They said that the update failed and they restarted sometime in the morning on Tuesday. It was done updating by about 3:30 Tuesday afternoon.

When I initially got in the car, it was a bit less powerful-feeling from a standstill--less torquey, less jumpy perhaps. I didn't read too much into that initially since I figured they probably reset the throttle adaptation at the same. I figured the car needed some time to adjust.

After a day or so, the car still did not feel as lively from a takeoff as I wanted, as I'd remembered before the update. I read up on the throttle adaptation reset since now I wasn't sure that they'd done it as part of the software update. Upon resetting the adaptation, there was a marked improvement overall.

After spending a few more days with the car now, I'm still not fully convinced that the update was a complete improvement for my car. Don't get me wrong--there are benefits: Gas mileage has improved slightly; the throttle is less twitchy, more linear; etc. I still think I need a little more time to fully evaluate the merits of the update. I'll post up again if I notice anything else in the coming days

Very interesting. I didn't think there would be much power gained, rather just better drivability (smoothness). But I kept reading that with such a gap in software dates, more improvements would be noticable. Very interesting observations!

I think you should just delete the cats and get a stage II tune...

I was looking into the OEM exhaust Mod but ended up going catless instead. Any exhaust shop should be able to do it. Not sure if Reggies would be willing to do it. I also go the name of a place in Zionsville but can't find where I put that info .

I got a tune (stage II) so the tuner updated me to 240E and then put on the tune. Not sure though, sorry.
