Halos Out - Help?

Hi,

Today I noticed my halos are out. All other lights work including high beam. It is an E92 if that matters.

I tried to find threads on it and read something about replacing the H8 bulb.

Is it common for both sides to go out?
They used to be blue-ish, is that OEM?
How do I tell if I have aftermarket setup?
Has anyone else ran into this issue?

Any and all help is greatly appreciated.

You can turn them on and off through I-drive. Did you try this first you could have accidently turned them off?

I went through the settings and found "Daytime Running Lights". Is that what you mean?

Odd to see both burnt out at the same time.

Check to see if bulbs are good, also verify power with a multimeter on the H8 leads.

If no power is present, the FRM will need to be reset. This can be done by autologic, dealer or Bavarian Technic cable.

They also come on with your park lights, or at least they should.
Do you have warnings for light out currently on?
Blue tinted angel eyes are definitely not factory FYI.

Yeah, I thought it was odd that both went out. Hopefully I'll have time this weekend to dive into troubleshooting. What's FRM?

There's currently no indicators or warnings that any lights are out; however, I would sometimes get "Rear Parking Light" warning. That would appear rarely and then go away.

As for blue halos not being OEM, I thought OEM were more of a halogen color - thanks for confirming.

FRM is the footwell module. It's responsible for the outside lighting, among other things. I've never seen one that needed to be reset to make lights function again, and I can promise you I've seen more cars than Tom or anyone else @ EAS.
If that's the case, a battery reset will accomplish the same thing without any tools or diagnostic equipment. I doubt that's the issue here though. Pull one bulb and see what the bulb looks like. I'm guessing you'll see it smoked. Then you'll know to get more bulbs to take care of it. Perhaps AiB or LUX are in your future!
