If you lease the car (M3) you would be nuts in putting down that much money. First off if the only way you can afford the M3 is by a lease payment and you can't take advantage of the tax breaks a lease affords you than you shouldn't lease.

With a lease you want to bring in the bare minimum. You don't save any interest payments by having that much of a down payment. The only thing you would save on is the state tax usage fee.

You can privately sell a car out of a lease, you still have a payoff regardless wether you lease or financed the car. I am self employed and get the full tax advantages to leasing so I always lease my POV. I have sold all my cars that I lease at the end of the lease. The M3s hold their value and I always walked away from the transaction with dollars in my pocket.

Thanks for the info...But you can always finance the car at 0.9% and that would allow for trading it in...

There's no way anyone could possibly come close to my deal, as there were a great deal of incentives being offered when I got mine. I think my final sales price was close to $9K off MSRP when all was said and done....

Trendy: very interested to know when did you get it and what were the incentives. There were only about $3K in incentives when I got mine.

I received the following incentives:

$1,500 Holiday Cash
$750 Loyalty Incentive
$1,000 USAA Incentive
$1,000 College Grad Incentive (Finished my MBA in 2012)

Also got about $5,500 off of MSRP, so a total of close to $9,500 off the total sticker on the car.

I also the think the lease rates were a tad bit better in December.
