That's what I guessed...

Okay that sucks but thanks for digging.

I am now looking at the XD600/6 and Focal 100KRS to see if they will fit everywhere (and the LCi6 or 7).

Already have the harness from technic and am driving the stock 8"s with JL 150x2 and a JL 500x1 amp on a 10in sub.

The lows are decent but our highs are definitely a bit... blah

Anyway I am researching the focals to see if they fit the front/rear/deck. If anyone knows off hand that would be great.

Again thanks for taking things a step further and contacting Focal.

The JL Audio C5-400 mid and the C5-075ct silk tweeters (with inline filter) fit the E92 front doors, and they sound great with the XD600/6.

No need for the LCi6 with HiFi.

So, the C-075CT tweeters pop right into the door sail pods?

looks like the C5-400's frequency response only reaches down to about 250-300hz.

Right now I have my 8"s crossed over at 150hz (via the JL audio/300) and when I try to go higher - even 180hz it starts to get a little boomy. I don't know if that is typical of 8"s or just because they are stock?

The Focal's spec are down to 120hz BUT they are much more expensive.

I have the XD600/6 on the way, along with the LC6i (Enhanced Premium Sound) - over the next few weeks I am going to install everything with the stock 4"s and see how it sounds. I am hoping that the XD600 might bring out some detail in the stock speakers (tweeters) and I can live with it but am thinking that I will want to go with replacement speakers also.

The 300Hz is what JL Audio suggests.

Actual frequency is 100Hz. I just did an E93 and set them up at ~175Hz HP.

The LC6i will only give you a low level, summed version of the high level, crossed over OEM signal. So whatever you do not like now it will just be a different kind of not like after the LC6i.

sooo.... do those C5-400s fit in the rear doors/deck/center?

I would really like to be able to just buy 6 (or 7) mids and 4 tweeters and call it a day

How much modding did you have to do to get the tweeters in place?

E92 front door fitment requires custom mount. These speakers are 41mm deep so they fit with regular mount in the rest of the OEM speaker locations.

Tweeters are 19mm is diameter, or about 2mm less than OEM mount. Some padding required.

Hello, Do you recommend the C5-400s over the focal 100krs for an E93 with HIFI? It looks like the focals may fit without a custom mount in the front doors. Can you tell me your preferences of one over the other. Also, which JL amp for the E93 HiFi system.

New to this forum. thanks!

I have a 2009 sedan with HiFi. I am currently running an Alpine PDX-5 amp with harness, SWS-8 under the seats, Rainbow SLC in the front doors and some Hertz (I think for rear fill).

It sounds decent, but certain frequencies seem, I don't know, boomy. Perhaps I should get it adjusted/tuned by a shop with experience and/or tools.

But at the same time, I cannot keep but wondering about these Focals.

Would they be an improvement over the Rainbows?
Are they designed to work directly with the OEM HiFi amp?

Any information would be appreciated!
