DetailersDomain.com 01 Porsche 911 Turbo - Bring it back to life.

This 01 Porsche 911 Turbo came to us need a lot of TLC, (its tracked and lives in Manhattan)

- clear film removal
- taxi cab paint transfer removal
- full paint correction
- full interior
- engine detail

I'm going to let the write up do it's job on this one.

Exterior

- Wheels were prepped with Sonax Wheel Cleaner and cleaned up with various brushes
- Tires were spritzed down with Adamís All Purpose Cleaner and washed down
- Wheel wells were cleaned up
- Washed with Adam's Car Wash
- Decon with Wolf's Decon Gel
- Wash down and rinsed
- Door jambs were cleaned up
- Nano Scrub AutoScrub
- Dried
- Tires dressed
- Masking
- Paint Measurement
- Compound - Menzerna FG400
- Final Polish - Sonax Nano Polish
- Last step - Auto Finesse Desire
- Inspection with Fenix, Brinkmann, and natural sunlight
- Wheel wells were cleaned and dressed
- Rubber and Plastics Treated
- Exterior windows and mirrors cleaned and sealed
- Exhaust tips cleaned
- Windows were auto scrubed, cleaned, and sealed

Interior:
- Complete interior steam cleaned
- Complete interior vac
- Vinyl/Plastics cleaned up
- Leather cleaned and condition

Interior - Before








Clean up years of dirt, grime, and dead skin off the steering wheel




A nice improvement

The Fenix TK35 was extremely helpful detecting paint imperfections


Prep - Clear film removal/Wheels/Tires/Decon/Autoscrub/Wash

Clear film was on the car since 2001 - it needed to be removed, it's job was done. (we used 7 cans of 3m adhesive remover on this job!)








Sonax Full Effect used to clean up the wheels



All Purpose used on the tires


Some agitation with a brush and we are pulling some dirt/grime/brake dust off the tires


Wheel wells getting hit with APC



Rinse



Wolf's Decon Gel


After we rinsed down the Decon Gel we moved on to pre soak with snow foam




Car was washed traditionally - 2 bucket method and we move on to NanoSkin Autoscrub


After the wash here is what the car looked like it almost appears if the car was sand blasted with zero gloss!


if you look closely you will see some marring left by the NanoSkin Autoscrub - Porsche paint = soft




Correction process - before/afters and 50/50 shots

Great work guys! Between the age of the car, where it lives, and the fact that its tracked its a wonder how it is still able to look that good. Seems some TLC from the pro's is all that's needed to bring any car back to its former glory. Now only if it were a 993 instead....

Amazing as usual! Question on the black wow - when you say "matted" I assume you have just gone over again and wiped off excess? I've found even when doing that it still looks "wet" v. what your pics show.

I realize that's an old car, but damn, I'd say it was owned/driven by a woman (no offense to female board members), but that wasn't well taken care of for an incredible car to begin with. Kudos to Phil's crew for touching that nasty steering wheel

correct matting down black wow will take down excess but the "wet look" is still there on this one it made a difference on other cars you can use 1Z einszett vinyl rubber or Adams Super VRT for a more matte look

any before shots of the areas that were covered in the clear bra after it was removed? Everything still looked marred up in the before shots, I would expect the clear bra to protect against that.

after removing the glue from the clear film the paint looked worse than the paint. all that glue stuck on there for 12 years ....it was like removing cement.

I thought my jetta was bad. But this is...takes the icing.

Phil, being Porsche has a softer paint, would have gone with a regular soft to medium clay?
ANother thing I noticed that you guys don't use painter tape around the window etc... if you get some polish and wax, what do you use to remove it?

we did mask around the rubber trim however we do not have photos to show it.

if we do get compound or polish on the trim we quickly remove it

Phil- we have many customers with OEM alcantara performance steering wheels. As you know, they take a rather large beating. What do you recommend for upkeep on these? Shoot me a PM if easier.

the net shield is lately our go to for it durability and looks.

we have seen 4-6 months on our personal cars in the shop.
