actually i applied this Track wax foam stuff that cleans everything. It's pretty cool stuff, it even applies to windows like rain x, just not as good. It polishes up the coat pretty well too. I put it all over my rims and damn, no brake dust 2 weeks later! Guess I forgot how much it's worth it. I think applying this stuff with a rag works better than air spraying the armorall.

Ive done almost 2 full weeks of daily commuting with the wheel protectant and my wheels still look freshly washed. This stuff is the real deal.

Thanks for the feedback. I'm going to buy some this weekend.

After seeing this thread I got some and tried it out on the x3. After one week, wheels look freshly washed. Even wiping my finger across the spokes comes back clean with no residue. Liking it so far. Have to figure out how to best apply it. First time I used almost half the can. Will try smaller amount next time.

I've read way too many good reviews of this stuff NOT to have it in my garage already. Going out this week and getting some.

I can't stand how hard it is to clean the ZCP wheels, and the brake dust accumulates so fast, so thick it's disgusting.

waxed ZCP wheels with Collinite 845 wax - lasts 6 months or more.

I had the same experience. I stopped using it on my wheels and started using swissvax autobahn.

I tried collinite 845 on my wheels before and wasnt too impressed IMO

Autobahn is certainly a great product, but much harder to apply IMHO than 845. I think 845 and Menzerna PowerLock are tied for ease of application and lasting ability.

Thought the same thing, most armor all products are garbage but will try this stuff. Thanks!

How often do you wash your rims. I've got some Powerlock on and it helped the first week. But after that the brake dust looked just as bad as before. Not that I was expecting miracles or anything.

It's been over month since my first post. I have now been using it on my M3. For me, it definitely makes a difference. In fact, I can now clean my wheels off pretty much with compressed air...until it gets wet. Then, the pressure washer gets them clean with no other product or scrubbing. Still looking for something better though. May have to try one of these other products mentioned in the thread.

I've been using this stuff for about 6 months applying it after every other wash, so I use it 2x/month. Lately it's been raining or I've been short on time so skipped the Armor All for the last few washes.

Yesterday I had to spend some quality time with a brush and some sonax followed by a mitt with soapy water to get them clean. It was A LOT more work than the couple minutes it used to take me.

Yes, it has to be reapplied but spraying the stuff on the wheel is a lot easier than using a wax and the waxed wheels I've seen still require some work to clean.

This stuff sounds like it's alright but what I'm really looking for is a way to get my ZCP wheels clean enough to the point where I can start using this protectant. It would be dope if I could just spray it on a dirty wheel, let it dry, then drive my M3 and have all that crap fly off the wheels without washing it.

There are so many bits of paper towel in between the spokes that it frustrates the hell out of me. I'm thinking about taking the wheel off..

IGNORE THIS POST -- Please see update below.

Tried it 3 weeks ago.

Used the whole can for all 4 wheels (overkill?)

Echoing others' experiences: It works great, but doesn't last terribly long! Two weeks at best. Since I wash monthly, its not worth it IMHO

I wouldn't recommend that, that's just going to sling all that break dust & dirty water on your paint. I also wouldn't recommend using a paper towel to dry your car, use air or a microfiber if possible.

OK after I posted this, I went out and washed my car on a nice partly sunny day. Please ignore above post: I based my observations on quick glances at the wheel in a dimly lit garage.

Sorry. Is there an emoticon for eating crow?

Updated thoughts:
1. Its been 4 weeks and 1.5k miles since application
2. It is still holding very well. There is very little grime on the wheels, and almost nothing on areas that were flat / easy to spray. This product worked so well that even though I washed my car, I decided NOT to wash the wheels and strip off the Armorall.
3. What brake dust there was would not go off with water. But that said it wiped right off with a wet towel!

I think I'll buy this product every 3 months or so

Just used it today. Will update with results but one quick spray with water yielded crazy beading

Didn't use it for a few washings due to time constraints and just washed down the wheels.

Won't do that again. It makes routine cleaning sooo much easier, especially after some spirited mountain driving.
