CF vinyl wrapped mirrors

I did this a few weeks ago, bought a 1x5ft roll for $10 on ebay. I was going for protecting the mirror caps from minor chips more than cosmetics, but I didn't want to make it black. the CF mirror caps cost way too much and isn't worth it.

It's not 100% perfect, but its not bad considering it's my first time wrapping anything! Some air bubbles but I managed to get that out. Plus, i have like 3 ft left.

Looks tight! Nice work!! Rock chips are hitting me all over the place too, so I know the feeling.

thanks everyone!

Don't be intimidated, it's really not that bad.

For my prep work, I just took the caps off and cleaned it really well with some dish detergent. Let it completely dry after blotching it with a towel, or you can speed it up with a blow dryer.

Heat is your friend. It took a bit to get the curves right but that's because I realized that I wasn't applying that much heat. You know you'll have enough heat when the vinyl turns very soft and "melts" onto the mirror cap

$10, can't go wrong. Save yourself $300 and use it on something else...oh I dunno, a pulley?!

Looks fantastic! I'm doing this once my eBay vinyl arrives to.
How'd you get the mirror covers off?

About to do this too.. did you use an exacto knife to cut around the edges? Does the vinyl cut cleanly or does it get frayed?

I didn't have an exacto knife, I shoud've bought one . I used scissors and cut as close as possible so about 1CM of excess can be wrapped and tucked in
