I dont know what to say about this situation. The guy at best buy litterly said this is bullshit but hes sorry and he cant do anything. I payed an additional 300 dollars for the extended warranty and they arent doing a damn thing about it.

Also i used a oem charger that i got with the stupid fucking laptop.
Im going to best buy tomorrow to talk to them.

If your product is still under the original manufacturer's warranty you should take it up with them first. Work directly with Apple. I don't know the terms of the extended warranty you purchased, but usually 3rd parties don't want to get involved before the manufacturer as they would be responsible for paying the claim if the product is still under the original warrantly.

Not much is know about it since it was just a sneak peak. But, much of its expandability will be external( why it has a gazillion thunderbolt 2.0 ports). But, it is easy to access the internals.

Just scroll through this page will give some info on it.

You can add fun gadgets, but no future-proofing. Single CPU, dual-proprietary GPUs, two huge strikes against the design.

update: I went to best buy because they agreed to fix/ replace my laptop if i show them the charger i used. So I bring my charger in and they tell me to take my laptop to apple directly and deal with them. I asked them why i paid an extra 300 for the extended warranty from them if theyre just going to screw me over and send me to apple. They basically said the first year of the warranty, apple fixes everything. Then after the first year, its us who you deal with.

Im so fed up, i dont know wtf to do at this point. When I start up the laptop it works perfectly. But if you look at the side you can see the burnt part. I dont want to take the laptop back home and then have complications later on.

I told them to ship it to apple for me with the charger and ask them to check it out again. they basically told me that they will do that but if apple denys the warranty, im shit out of luck.

you might do better just going to an apple store. imo, best buy's run like a chop shop. when i go there, i assume i'll be getting the attitude. the few times i've dealt with an apple store, they usually took care of me (though there are always exceptions).

i know, it's principle: best buy should handle it since you bought it there. but end of the day, you want it fixed right? might not be worth arguing with those bb folks. this week i was shopping for an ipad for my dad. went to bb first, got the attitude right away. flashed my cash and walked out the store (some other time, buddy). went to the apple store next. first guy "was on break". a nice girl came by and did everything right. left the store with a new ipad within 5 minutes: that is how you sell.

This may or may not be relevant, but Apple has been doing a recall on the "T shaped" chargers for a while now because the plastic covering can fray and catch fire. They're replacing them with "L shaped" adapters for free.

This is a picture of the "T shaped" charger:

Here is a picture of an "L shaped" charger:

This is getting hilarious. Now that ive sent the charger in apparently it wasn't the chargers fault. there was water damage and that caused the fire. WHAT THE FLYING FUCK IS GOING ON!!!!!!
best buy and apple are screwing me over big time. My family owns 3 iphones, 4 ipod touches, 1 ipod nano a fucking ipad. After this customer service I am never going back.
My father is so pissed off he's planning on threatening them with a lawsuit.

If the laptop caught on fire, how does it still start up? Do you have pictures? Did you bring it to a different apple store?

I worked as a certified Apple tech for years, I don't think you really mean it caught fire, as in literally burst into flames and continues to work. A power surge has been known to cause this issue as many possibilities. I never, nor did the other tech's, have any issue replacing the part free under warranty. Best Buy notoriously is terrible in every way. Ive never turned a customer away for this, I have seen it many times. Its the magsafe board that fries, its a small board that takes the incoming power and sends it to the MLB (main logic board).

You were told to take it directly to Apple on June 11th by Judge and July 8th by Bosster Hymen.

What are you waiting for? A third person to tell you?

+1 what an idiot, just go to an apple store and deal with them directly. Why are you being dumb and going to a third party (best buy) when you can go to the source (apple)......
