Anyone been to this shop in Pompano? Thinking about having the OEM exhaust mod done to hold me over until I pull the trigger on a new system.

Not 100% sure. I was inquiring about basic reputation before I engaged them about performing the mod. I'll call today to see what their capabilities are.

Update: called Redline today to inquire. They indicated they did not have the capability to due the work but recommended Mad Hatter Muffler & Tire. I will try to swing by this week to talk with one of the techs. Anyone else interested if I can get a group rate?

I have an extra E46 M muffler that I want to have it done to.. Gator Fast already had the mod done by a shop in Fort Lauderdale; I don't recall who he said did it. I'd recommend going with a shop that has already performed something like this.

Rattles w/ the OEM mod? The only way I could see that happening is if you didn't weld the pipes in the can well. Otherwise there is no real difference to the way it mounts or anything.
FWIW I have 0 rattle with the OEM mod. |

Got a solid recommendation for Import Motor Werks. Just need to find the time to go over and talk with them. I checked the couch cushions again today and still did not find $3K, so my dreams of an MPE are still on hold...

Dont worry. The oem mod will sound just as good as the MPE for 10% of the price...

Rattles happen, I've heard them personally on an OEM Mod. Make sure your welder knows what he's doing. If he screws it up, I have a stock e90 muffler I can sell you.

Probably left some crap in the exhaust and welded it back together. No rattles when I had mine.

I may be interested to have this done as well although I haven't heard one in person. I have only heard an Eisenmann Race in person (which sounds SICK, but at $2k it's a bit pricey and also has a drone
Would love to hear the OEM MOD exhaust and Megan exhaust in person if anyone is willing to meet up so I can decide finally! |

I also contacted RedLine/DTS/ActiveAutowerke and no go on the mod. Seeing no one in SFL apparently knows of the mod or has to balls to attempt it I dropped the exhaust on the car this weekend and went ham on it with an angle grinder using all the DIY videos i could find as reference.
My oem mod should be back from the welder this week and I'll have it back in the car this weekend. ill be posting pics and have no problem meeting up at one of the local meets for anyone interested in a test drive/listen |
