Does anyone know the difference btw e-1994 and e-2994 K&N air filter?

Yesterday, I changed my OEM air filter to K&N air filter, but the filter didn't fit exactly due to shorter length of the filter so I had to attach some crap btw the filter and the attachment site..
Mine was E-1994 and I'm worried if I got the wrong one.

I also have a K&N and it fits perfectly. Early North American cars had a smaller more restrictive carbon lined filter. The air box had a longer pin to accomodate the smaller filter. Early (2008-2009) North American cars use the E-1994. The rest of the world and later (2010+) NA use the E-2994.

It seems as if you have the wrong filter (since you are in in South Korea).
