Not even having been in one? Wow! I thought I had an interesting experience, but this is freaking great!

I just walked into a BMW dealership looking at some 328's. I had never been in an M3 (or knew anything at all about them), but I saw and test drove one just to see what it was like anyway. Bought it on the spot. The joys of being 25 and impulsive (at the time)...

I ordered my 1M after spending 5 minutes in a E92 m3 demo, my dealer thought it would be better to test drive the m3 rather than the 135i.
I traded my 04 STI for a 2003 e46 m3 after loving the 1M so much .Driving the e46 for five minutes in nose to ass traffic did it for me .
Then I traded the 1M for a new E92 m3 since I loved the e46 so much.
High revs , yippy !

I test drove in 2008 E90 when it first came out - almost bought then... but I didn't like the price sales guy was giving me... so I decided not to buy at that time.

2013 January comes and it was time to pull the trigger... so I walked into the dealer lot and there was the Space Grey E92 sitting with all the options I wanted minus 6 speed... thought about it for 24hrs (had to decide if I wanted a DCT) and decided to get it...
- then drove off the lot (car had less than 10 miles on it).

Basically never test drove the car... not even my car.

No regrets!

I drove a 335 and immediately bought the m3 off of the showroom floor without driving it.

Not only ordered mine without test driving the car, but I had never even seen one before. Only pics and videos..A lot of videos while doing research and after ordering. Never had a doubt about it and still love every minute I spend with the car!

Bought my E92 M3 sight unseen but had an E46 M3 prior. I found out it was going to have a high rev V8, and that was all the reason I needed. Plus it looks hella gorgeous

Never test drove the M. The only dealer that let me test drive cars never had one in stock for me to drive.

Was leasing a 335, test drove a 2012 S5 with V8, a 2013 S5 with supercharged V6, also looked at the TTRS, ended up ordering the M3 in July of last year and took delivery September 15th without ever driving one.

Test Drive

Before I made a decision to purchase my new 2012 M3......I test drove 2 other cars.....a Lexus ISF and a new Corvette.......both were nice cars, but then I went to my local BMW Dealer and took out a new M3......drove it for about 15 minutes and made up my mind that this was the car I was going to order. It just had a better feel to it and I have never had a moment of regret.....I love it each and every day that I drive it........a great car that is a real keeper !!

When I was a teenager, I would admire the E36 M3 at car shows. It was at the top of my "most wanted" list. But I never drove one, or even sat in one. But I followed it's progress through the years. When the E90 M3 came out, I was in a financial place where I could consider it. I went to a dealer and they wanted me to drive the car. I said no. For me, this was a culmination of many years of desire. It didn't matter what it drove like. I wanted one, and that was it. (I owned an E36 328 for many years.) Ultimately, they got me in the passenger seat and drove me around for a few blocks. (Since I wanted to order one, I think they were slightly paranoid about building one and then getting stuck with it if I changed my mind. So I went on the ride as a passenger.)

As soon as we got back from the ride, I ordered it and then went through the long torturous wait of getting it built and shipped on the boat. That was a looong few months!

Now, four years later--[I will have owned my car exactly 4 four years on May 12)---the car is modded and hits the track quite regularly and I couldn't be happier with it.

Sort of never drove it

My '09 is my 4th BMW, but I was dead-set on a manual. Drove all the way to a dealership on a mis-printed ad. The car was a DCT. They let me drive a Dinan M3 DCT and I bought mine on the spot, just left the old car there ... LOL

Went to the dealership to see it, it was blocked in so the first time I drove it was after I had purchased it

Not a BMW, but when I bought my s2000, I bought it undriven. It was my first manual transmission and I didn't really know how to drive one. Drove it home in Atlanta traffic on the Interstate. Talk about white-knuckles. That was not an easy car to learn manual.

I bought my 328 sight unseen without having driven a sedan with a manual. I'd driven multiple more powerful BMWs though previously. I plan on ordering my F82 M sight unseen without having driven one though. The dealership where I live doesn't stock M cars because its such a small market for them and they often have to discount them heavily to move them.
