Diff Oil With FM?

Just out of curiousity have BMW Aust used this oil?

There is a SIB issued in the US for M owners who experience grinding noises at low speeds:

I don't know whether it is the same oil but when I complained of grinding noise when turning BMW changed my oil. I didn't pay for it so I am not sure exactly what was used. I won't be surprised if it was that. I haven't heard the noise since.

Indeed that's true, but what about in Australia do our dealers use this fluid?

Yes. This came about from an international BMW PUMA release. I bought my fluid from my local dealer.

I got it in about 2009, so it probably isn't relevant now. You could only buy it in packs of 2 from memory and I don't remember how much it was $80 odd dollars rings a bell but I really just can't remember. I put it in my E46 M3 and never had any noises after that.
