I have an Autobrite cannon. It's a UK company if I remember correctly.

Not sure if the pics still work, but here was my thread:

Talking

Thanks for the responses, negative and positive. As I had mentioned in my OP, I have a gas powered backpack blower, but wanted something that would not annoy the neighbor's and it HAD to be cordless. Yes, it's expensive, but then I have $145 000 worth of cars in my garage, so $500 on a quality item really doesn't bother me.

I concur with the tech, the MetroBlaster is awesome, I use their vacuum cleaner for my cars, nothing works better IMHO.

I have a foam cannon from Chemical Guys. I really like their soap, they have a variety of soaps specifically developed for the cannon. I typically, rinse the vehicle with a pressure washer first to ensure that the majority of debris is cleaned off, then foam, and while the foam is in place, use a microfiber mitt to gently agitate, then another rinse, and dry using the blower. The Chemical Guys soaps are awesome - try the Pink, great smell, and fabulous results: http://www.chemicalguys.com/Chemical...cws_402_16.htm

I use, mainly, German products, and have a variety of detailing products, I am not a shill for Chemical Guys.

Foam guns attach to hoses while foam cannons attach to your pressure washer. Foam cannons have extremely thick and clingy foam which is great for pre soaking. Just check out YouTube to see the difference. IMO it isn't necessary to have a cannon the gun is sufficient

yep thanks, just figured that out after i asked the question. I have a pressure washer....just not sure i really feel like breaking out that whole apparatus each time i wanna wash. Although all that clingy thick foam is quite impressive.

trust me i'm with you on that one. i love detailing it's a stress reliever for me but just getting all the hoses and supplies ready and then packed up at the end is a hassle. i don't have a hose next my house either so i have to wrap it around about 80ft to get to the nearest water source so getting that setup up and running by itself turns me away from washing the car that often

Nope, agreed... i put it on the highest setting and it foams pretty well...but it goes through soap like it's water basically.

The Gilmour Foam Gun works ok, but you need a lot of water pressure if you are going to get good foam. The trick is to purchase an additional pressure washer wand and attach the foam cannon to that permanently (as opposed to a foam gun which attaches to your garden hose). Then all you have to do is swap the pressure washer wands out when cleaning/detailing. Per a prior post on the topic, none of us needs this stuff, but I certainly want it for the time savings and results. I've used a bucket for >30 years but decided it was time (for me) to upgrade, I also just happen to like new stuff!

Thanks for this. I am leaning towards pulling a trigger on a foam cannon.

I heard some people rinse with foam on. Then do a hand wash with car soap. Then dry and then some sort of wax/detailing spray/shine at the end.

What are the rest of your steps that you do.
