how do you know that he wasn't pointing at your car. maybe he had all but one finger blown off in a war helping us. what if he was saying "dude, you have a flat tire" or "dude, you ran over a cat and its still on your bumper". j/k. way to keep your composure.

Welcome to the club. I get flipped off all the time. Enough times where my daughter asked me on one occasion after we had arrived home, "Dad why do people always get so mad at you when we're in your car?"

Nothing new here. You did nothing wrong, you are driving an M car. I choose never to reciprocate because if somebody is that miserable to flick you off, then they're obviously unstable and unpredictable. In most cases, you have the most to lose and nothing to gain.

Yep. Pointed at me a couple of times before that, and then tried to block me a couple of times before THAT. The reason why I put the whole thing on there is so people can't say that I only showed the bird without showing what I may or may not have done to deserve it.

If he wanted the left lane then (and I can't figure out why; he could have kept it when he was straddling) why didn't he signal?
I am with jerseygirl on this one. He had to pass you on the right; whether you deserved what you got is a different question, but you could've (actually should've) stayed on the right lane until you had to turn left. Whether you were doing the speed limit or not doesn't matter as long as you are holding someone back on the passing/left lane.

Sorry if this isn't what you wanted to hear, but you did ask for a possible answer to why he might have been offended by you.

For anyone looking, flipped off at 4:15. I cant see what warranted that reaction, so I wouldn't give it much attention. Encounters like that don't phase me the least bit if I know that I was driving safely.

OMG, if he had a few more drinks he probably would've been waving a gun at you! I'll bet he has road rage issues, you did the right thing by ignoring him.

Wow! That's messed up! And he gave you the middle finger a couple of times or as they say flipped the birdy. Jealousy is ugly!
