Evo VIII for sale - enthusiasts car
I am posting this here because this is an enthusiasts' forum. This is my son's car, and is a pristine unmodded example with only 46K miles

That is quite rare to see an EVO unmolested. They usually have some kind of mods done to them. Looks clean, GLWS

$22k for that car is insane.
In 2004, I bought a stock 2003 evo8 with 10k miles for $23k. That car is not worth more than $13k today. Plus, this is the least sophisticated model. I don't have to tell you all the goodies that came with the 05, 06 cars. Lastly, you can walk off with a new Evox for a hair under 30k. I know I'm doing a big no-no, which is bashing a fs thread, but come on, face some reality, and also post this in the fs section. I'm also saying this as a reasonable opinion for the m3 owner who may not know about these cars and may want to jump on a track car. I love evos, I owned one for 6 years, and loved every minute of it, but I just don't want ppl to grossly overpay for one. Last edited by mdosu; 03-06-2013 at 09:07 AM. |

yeah, do let me know. I take it EvoM has laughed at $22k already. Seriously, if you can find the right guy who'll take this price, then all the power to you, and I have some pretty old stuff in my house I'd want you to sell for me too.

2003....so no helical front differential and no active center differential.
Perhaps an Evo IX which has both those things as well as a bigger turbo and MIVEC would command a premium, but not the first and worst Evo in the states. |

the upside of a non-ACD Evo, is that it's likely the easiest car to fix. Very minimum electronics involved. Can you imagine if you ACD controller went out? what a PITA.

http://www.teamrip.com/EVO_TRANSFER_CASE_SERVICES.html I'd much rather have an 05+ Evo. My 05 Evo was bone stock when I traded it in and I got $22k trade in for it... 5 years ago!

I recently checked used car values and even my 2003 S2000 would be tough to sell at that price (that's the high end). Mind you, that is THE most desirable model year for a discontinued car with a factory hard top and only 12k miles. Good luck with the sale, but I think that you'll be waiting a while. |

I owned a brand new 2003 Evo in 2003, as well. You definitely don't see them like this, anymore.
Whoever buys this car, is a collector, and not buying to modify it. These cars still bring a premium and huge interest today, just as a stock Integra Type R's can fetch what it cost new, in stock untouched form. These cars will be the Muscle Cars, of my generation, and as the pickings get slim, the demand and price will shoot up. It's inevitable. OP- Good luck to your son. I am sure if he holds out, someone will buy it. You're doing the right thing, by posting it on the forums. |
