Top 5 paint correction/swirl scratch remover products
I'm looking for a new Swirl/Scratch remover for my cars...I've used Zaino's swirl/scratch remover (along w/ Z5), with some good results, but I think there are probably better products out there. There are so many on the market these days so I'm looking for opinion on the best bang for your buck. I don't want a "filler" type product. Rather, I want something that will effectively remove those swirls/spiderwebs permanently. I have a Griots random orbital to do the job, with a proper cutting pad.
I'd love to know what the top 4-5 products are out there that good detailers are using. Thanks. |

Had the Griot's and switched to a Flex. Doing that will allow you to correct so much more.
I usually do a 2 step polish with 2 different pads, that have different cutting ability. I like Lake County pads and favor Mezerna. In terms of which product, it depends on how much correction you need. If a car is in good shape, I'll just do a 1 step polish and save the clear coat ![]() http://www.autogeek.net/menzerna-of-germany.html |

Meg's 105 is the shit; but should be followed with a finishing polish like their 205.

Like others have said 105>205 and then some have even used menzerna SIP after as well to get that perfect finish. I think these new one step polishes are pretty awesome. Look into menzernas fg400 and sonax 3/6

All good products. It should be mentioned that wolfgang total swirl remover 3.0/menz SIP and 106ff/finishing glaze are very similar products.
No doubt they work, but I tend to try and not and use very aggressive products like m105 and FG400. Lots of times a product like SIP is good enough. |

Remember that most glazes have fillers that will just hide the issue. You'll need an abrasive to actually remove the swirls.
Good choices in here though!

Choice of pad is also going to be an issue (cutting vs polishing vs finishing) ... and you may need several of each. I'm Alpine white, so my paint is far more forgiving than the darker flat paints and any of the black-ish colors BMW has out there. You may want to visit the detailers domain site, or the detail section on bimmerfest, search for your color, you'll see they've worked on just about every color out there, and often list every product utilized for the correction.

I am having some good results with Carpro's Fixer (made by the manufacturer who make CQuartz) with lake country hydrotech pads.
The stuff does not dust at all and it is a multi-step product in one that finishes great.

Saint is a total fillet. Sorry. Provides a great mirror finish but it's dated technology.
Look into chemical guys product. They provide a whole line of products. V32 v34v36v38. R my fav followed by 50/50 wax. Good luck

You'll need the 6.5.
Lots of orange/white for lake country flat pads or orange/green for the uber. And just a few yellow and finishing pads....at least for my use. Or try buff and shine pads which are supposed to be the same as the uber pads. Also consider microfiber cutting pads (works faster) and the hydro-tech pads from lake country. |

The bigger the pad the safer it is. Keep that in mind. It's very easy to burn paint specially on plastics. So the bigger the pad the safer it is

^Correct..the smaller the pad the more cutting power you have..even when using the same "type" of pad.
I use Lake Country 5.5" for main panels and found it has the just the right amount of cutting power. I do use 4" pads for areas like the A and B pillars, bumpers, door jams etc.. |
