Beautiful weather today in Michigan, so I decided to snap some quick pics. I wish I was more familiar with the area, since I didn't have much time to actually scout around for some visually pleasing backdrops. Stay tuned for more photos in the near future.

As some may notice, I lowered the car ever so slightly. Visually it might not look as pleasing or aggressive as others, but I am trying to remind myself of practicality and functionality. It must be noted that this wide angle lens that I'm using and lighting really makes it look higher than it does in person, haha. I also threw on some Volk stickers! I actually drove around with naked Volks for awhile and loved the look. If these ever start to peal off, I am just going to leave them off. They look much cleaner and "OEM" without the shameless plug.

The parts continue to pile up...

Blackstone Laboratories Oil Analysis
I finally sent out my very first sample of oil to Blackstone Laboratories! Having seen a handful of members coming up with less than desirable results, I was a bit nervous. I did have the Rod Bearing Recall nearly a decade ago conducted by my local BMW dealer. Despite that, some race shops have told me that they are not permanent fixes. In the end, I am rather thankful that my results came out perfectly clean!

Over the 11 years of ownership, I have always done oil changes every 7500 miles. It was only the past year or so when I started changing oil every 5000 miles. To the say the least, I am very pleased with the results. I was actually preparing to do an rod bearing upgrade, but I may postpone those plans a bit further.

Finally crossing things off the to-do list...
I had some free time this morning to do some quick and easy installs...

Beisan Systems Solenoid Coil Pack and O-Rings
Install was very straight forward. I ran into some silly hiccups that kind of prolonged the install. After a bit of frustration, everything was bolted up with perfect idle and drivability.

Genuine BMW OE Hardware

Beisan Systems Hardware

Old vs New VANOS Solenoid Bolts. Sturdy Torx vs Prone-to-strip Hex.

AKG Motorsport RSM and RSM Reinforcement Plate
Very quick swap coming from the RE RSM. Ignore the double nut on the RSM, I will be replacing this with a Genuine BMW OE locking nut.

I didn't have time to quickly swap out my RTABs with the AKG Motorsport 90As. I also picked up the AKG Motorsport Delrin Brake Pedal Bushing and Shifter Housing Bushing.
