I'm getting one too A good friend owns a Chevy dealership and is getting me an allocation (I know him so no deposit required). I love the design, love the interior and love the likely performance. GM says the Z51 C7 is faster than the current GS model and close to the current Z06 on the track!!

I have never been particularly interested in Corvettes until this car. All new interior with competition seats, 3300 lbs, magnetic shocks, rev matching 7MT, adjustable exhaust, Brembo brakes, carbon fiber galore and GM is saying estimated 450hp/450ft.lbs torque but much of the speculation based on the specs of the new engine is that it will be closer to 480hp and GM is not releasing that while there are a bunch of C6s on the lots remaining to sell. All of this for not a lot of $$$.... it will be $15,000 to $20,000 less than my M3/C63 were.

I just saw it at the Toronto auto show and it looks really good. The boneheads didn't have a door open and had it roped off... idiots....

This will be a force to be reconned with for the price for sure.

This will be a nice track car for an amateur who wants to get the maximum out of a car but not kill themselves like the Z06 does Nice and light, great power, great dynamics but not a murderer

Yeah man it all looks good on paper. I heard 470hp will be the final number, but I'd be happy with anything over 450 and all that torque. Are you going with 2lt or 3lt? I'm trying to decide if I want to go with just z51 and keep it pretty basic or if I want to go all out. Are you planning on leasing or buying? I'm chomping at the bit for more info on it!

What is the difference between 2lt or 3lt?

I think I would do the Z51 track package... is the 2LT and 3LT on top of that? What's in those?

Z51 for sure!! For me, no Z51 would be a deal breaker as the dry sump oil system, bigger brakes, LSD, etc are all a big deal for track days IMO. Also, I like the 19/20" wheels much better. Also getting the magnetic shocks and, likely, the 2LT option package although even the 1LT package has most of the needed options. I am going to buy it because I will likely mod it

If you're comparing to a C6z06, the C7 will likely be more plush with similar performance, but I wouldn't expect the driving dynamics to be much different.

Clearly you haven't drive a z06 and the regular version of a vette. The z06 is an axe murderer for an amateur such as myself. The C6 440 hp verson was simply a dream to drive hard. The suspension will even be better on the basic C7 and expect it to be better than the C6. The Z06 is so stiff suspension wise, has so much torque and power and is much lighter than the regular car, it was a huge differenc.e

I have driven a z06, but sadly not on a track. More comfy suspension and all, I'm sure the C7 will still be a handful.

I have a z06 and my first track day with it was at Laguna seca in the rain! The car is easy to drive for an amateur as myself but I'm not sure what I'd rate myself as a driver... Also the 06 z06 were notorious for the hard ride and less than forgiving handling. I'm not sure you've driven any z06 newer than that? My second track day with the car had me doing an easy drift across riverside at buttonwillow and getting a 2:04 on stock everything, down to the brake fluid.

Given the fact that the c7 will have less anti dive geometry on the front and skinnier tires, I'm sure the c7 will inspire more confidence and a more transparent steering feel. But as for me, I'm going to hold off on a new car purchase until the m4 is released and then decide....

I'm definitely going to test one .. a Z06.

I agree w/ a poster above: 1st one that has drawn me since the original Sting Ray [note, 2 words NOT a typo, the name was "Sting Ray" on the C3]

This is the only time I would consider the Corvette. Waiting for the local dealer to get it in----the price is appealing, the reviews are amazing.....

This really is a game changer. I spec'd the car fully loaded at $75k, and it really nails everything in terms of performance, engineering, design, fit & finish, etc.

I am super intrigued by this car. It is a game changer! The performance figures and torque alone are worth the extremely reasonable price of admission. Also sadly am very open to the prospect of not visiting gas stations as much. I have a feeling I'm gonna love this thing but will not be willing give up my back seats. Don't want to give up a potential classic for another car note either. Oy vey...
