Weebl the only thing that will really be setting my pace will be me getting home to do taxes in April. Otherwise it will be up to my right foot to determine my speed with the police. I'm not 100% determined to do 101 the entire way, I suspect the scenery might get a little monotonous after a few days straight.

I'll definitely be picking you west coasters brains before I head out from BC, unless I decide to go through Canada instead. Only time will tell. A goal in my life is to go through every province at some point, and that would knock off a few that I'm unlikely to revisit again after

. such as Manitoba and Saskatchewan. (I suspect a lot of boredom)

P.S. I won't miss the penny, I have about 500 around my place, much of which is rolled. Such a useless coin these days. But I do have to say, the transition is a bit obnoxious.

And what good are pennies if you can't buy penny candies anymore

Nice group of photos today guys! I have been out all day chasing birds around the central valley of California.

I got this female mallard yesterday just before dark at my local shoreline park. She and her mate were screaming down the creek toward open water.

I haven't been to the Martinez marina lately, but the few times I have been to the 680 area, I haven't seen anything. I don't really go to that one often, because with work and all that, I usually take pictures in the afternoon, and that area is basically set up to look east at everything, which puts the refinery in the background, and a straight into the sun shooting situation.

If I am going to make a day of it, i usually go down to Coyote Hills in Newark/Union City. Probably the best waterfowl shooting in the bay area IMHO, as well as tons of raptors. I can't walk well, so I need an area of nice groomed trails, and Coyote has them in spades.

Yesterday I drove all the way down to the San Luis NWR and Merced NWR, and got some good shots. Here is one of the better ones so far...Red-tail on the move
